I don’t typically love chocolate stouts but found this one very drinkable. Dark brown pour with light brown creamy head. Nice bitter cocoa more than sweet chocolate flavor. Malty. Mild roastiness, but more creamy than roasty. A bit of tart lactic kick. Somewhat dry. Solid beer. blutt59 (2167), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Dark brown in color, tan head. The aroma is bitter cocoa mainly, with roasted malts. The flavor follows suit. A big taste of chocolate, very bitter and tart. The palate is left with a slight and quickly dissipating bitter chocolate taste. Decent stout, far from the best. dkachur (2421), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Aroma is BIG chocolate and roasted grain. Taste has a lactic tartness with chocolate, fruit and grain notes. Kinda like combining fruity pebbles with cocoa pebbles. Medium bodied. Soft carb. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 6, 2008 I almost forgot about this nice little niche of stoutdom: foreign stouts. I really got my nose down in this one and got a whole lot more that just by passing my nose over it. A good swirl around the glass brought out some sweet cream aroma, a woody-sugar sweetness that reminds me of Weyerbacher Prophecy, and then there is the normal caramel, malty chocolate smell. The flavor is a little lacking, tastes a slight bit sour, but still a little malty. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England
