| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Deep and dark. The aroma isn’t much, but chocolate hints and some some roasted maltiness. The flavor was a little much for me. Just too much sweet, too much flavor overall, I’m but a wee boy. NomDeBeer (400), Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 15, 2008 Aroma is mocha and faint coffee. Flavor is sweet brownies with a lactic sourness. Thinner than expected. Drinkable but kind of strange - I’m not sure how I really feel about this one. BrewCzar (108), St Louis, Missouri, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Bottle from SL. Pour was pretty typical, deep dark brown, short of black, off-white to choco-colored head. The aroma was chocolate, molasses, lightly roasted coffee. The flavor followed with some caramel mixed in there. Definitely a lighter than anticipated mouthfeel, pretty smooth, but a tad on the acidic/astringent side, yet not too much, a decent brew from a category that has recently bored me. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Had this at Chris O’s pre GBBF tasting, 02-08-08 cheers for a wonderful day Chris Big solid chocolatey taste a bit like a flak has been crumbled into your beer. Some light coffee then mingles with the rich cocoa, little bit of fizziness on the tongue, very nice. eboats (901), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Poured a very dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was just tons and tons of chocolate, pretty much all chocolate. Flavor was a bit of a let down form the aroma but still pretty good a lot of chocolate, but also with bitter coffee notes to calm down the sweetness. I was pretty impressed with this chocolate stout, unfortunately I tried it right before Southern Tier Choklat, haha. KimJohansen (7173), Copenhagen V, Denmark
