I got a tast from Anders it at OT, thanks. Dark red with a firm lasting foam. Big smell of mocca and dark chocolate. Also some nice maltines. Very smoth and balanced.

12 oz. Opaque dark chocolate with a small, fleeting head. Aromas of coffee and cocoa with light spice. Coffee and cocoa on the front flavors. Some acidity kicks in quickly with tastes of soured cream and slight cherry/berry, followed by dried hickory wood and piquant herb. Medium-heavy body is tingly with acidity, astringent and watery, and a little too bubbly in the mouth. Not as sweet as the other Foreigns I’ve tried; this one seems to have more acidic and yeast presence.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Dark black beer with a thick creamy tan head. Aroma is loaded with sweet milk chocolate character. A bit of soft plummy fruitiness underneath. A soft roasty aroma as well. Soft bitter chocolate up front with a full earthy/herbal bitterness through the middle. Soft and plummy fruitiness with a bit of charry character on the back. Quite herbal and chewy with loads of dried fruit through the middle. Lightly cooling alcoholic finish. It’s quite nice, really.

Bottle at Bailey’s Chocolate Bar, St. Louis. Pours black with a large, creamy, light brown head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, caramel, chocolate), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather, earth) with notes of date, wood, and tar. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness and bitterness, light acidity.

Very frangrant with cocoa. Nice roasted tones, malt, but pretty much dominated by the cocoa. The cocoa makes for a little sour at the finish. Still excellent though. Arcadia definetely tried to think outside the box.

Courtesy of Beerlando. Somewhat boozy aroma with perfumey alcohol, chocolate liqueur and roast malt. The body is black and holds a thin tan head. The first sip gives bittersweet dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, coffee and a slightly tangy note that is off putting. A touch thin and sour in the finish.

22oz bottle. The aroma, as advertised, was distinct cocoa. Poured an opaque black color with a fluffy light brown head that reduced to a tenacious film after about a minute. Medium to full bodied and sweet with chocolate, cream, and roasty malt flavors. I noticed the slightest hint of acidity near the finish accompanied by some green vegetable/dark fruit notes. There was also a subtle adhesive tape flavor. Eh, not so sure about this one.

Very nice stout, and BIG thanks to GMCC2181 for sending this one to me. I’ve been wanting to try this for awhile, and am glad I got the chance. This one reminded me a lot of Sexual Chocolate, just toned down on all fronts (but a lot easier to find!). Aroma is chocolate milk and raw cocoa beans. Pours a delicious deep brown and with a nice tan head. Flavor doesn’t quite match up to the aroma, but still brings the flavor. Pretty strong for 7%, the alcohol is very apparent here, but never gets boozy. Nice malty backbone, with roasted barley and chocolate taking strong supporting roles. Notes of hops, which adds a bitter aspect to this one that I didn’t really dig, but it didn’t ruin the beer. Didn’t pack the chocolate punch that I was looking for, but *man* this one would be killer if they amped everything up a notch. Will have again for sure, thanks again for hooking me up Gabe!!
