The beer pours with 80% head and 20% beer into my glass. Loads of vigorous carbonation makes the head last forever. Otherwise, the body is an opaque black with a light brown colored head. The nose is burnt roasted malts with chocolate and nuttiness. Just a light touch of hops. The flavor is roasty with a cocoa powder overtone, a lot of sweetness from the Munich malt and a slightly sour mash twang on the finish. The finish also yields a light bitterness with leafy green hops. The mouthfeel is pretty light bodied, making it seem a little thin. Too much fizzy active carbonation, so much so that I had to let it sit for a half hour to try and blow some of it off. Overall, this is a pretty weak effort. With such a decadent sounding name, you’d expect there to be a lot more to this. Miver (580), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of chocolate with some slight roast. huh?? triple what? I guess based off the name I was expecting something with a good amount of body. Tastes of dark chocolate malt, bakers chocolate... Not much more... too thin. I was let down. kuchen (7), Brooklyn, New York, USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Triple chocolate says it all. Very well balanced, but I probably wouldn’t have more than one of these. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Blackish pour, HUGE HUGE tan head, solid lacing and retention. Aroma is chocolate (malt and the real stuff) with roast, moderate to low hops, some caramel... dark chocolate dominates though. Medium bodied, fairly dry. BREWMUSKCLES (1091), New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 13, 2008 22 oz bottle 12/29/07: Thin, short lived tan head w/ a dark brown body and ruby highlights when held up to the light. Chocolate is strong w/ a light roast. Hints of dark grain acidity evident in the nose, with toffee, nutty, and brown sugar aromas. Also some hints of vanilla and light toasted malt. Well balanced w/a semi sweet deep chocolate flavor. Medium roasted grain character (coffee); light caramel is almost non existant compared to aroma. A touch of acidity from malts in the dry finish. Aftertaste is chocolate and light roast w/ a touch of bitter coffee. Smooth medium body, well hidden alcohol, and medium CO2. A touch flat and boring for my palate. Lots of chocolate, and not necessarily my favorite quality in a stout. Not a bad beer by any means, just not to my particular taste for me to rate higher. Ughsmash (4095), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Bomber. Poured deep brown with about 1/2" of creamy tan head. The aroma picked up milky and darker chocolates, molasses, and vanilla.. very sweet with interesting asides of husk and drawn caramel.. a little like Cocoa Puffs mixed with cake. The flavor was just as expected.. sweeter chocolates and caramel reside at the core, with lightly sour milk chocolates.. more sour still on the finish.. ok, but not one of the better super-chocolate stouts I’ve had. Medium-bodied, dry, and a bit sour on the palate.. if the sourness was replaced with some smoothness, this could’ve been very good.
