A decent stout but not very tasty. Aroma was nice-strong chocolate and coffee with s bit of alcohol. Pour was a deep dark brown with a tan ring for a head. Taste was very thin and watery and did not live up to the aroma. Slight coffee and roasted malt in the front with a lingering chcolate feel in the cheeks. There is a milkiness in and out. Decent carbonation. Different.

12 oz bottle. Black with a beige head. Lots of coffee and baking chocolate in the nose, roasty malt, a bit burnt. Lightly acidic, chocolatey and coffee. Somewhat sweet, a bit lactic. Something a tad vegetal in the finish, but maybe that’s just me. Not bad.

Pours dark brown, smells like light chocolate. It has a bitter, roasted coffee flavor. It is too smooth and lacks depth. There was a strange sour finish as well.

22oz Bottle: Pours a very dark brown w/ a creamy brown head. Very light milky chocolate aroma, seems to be a bit of yeast hanging in here too. Roasted malt flavor, coffee mostly. A little thin w/ a lingering dry finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. Picked up a bit of baking chocolate in the flavor, not much though. I expected much more with a name like Cocoa Loco, like maybe more cocoa. Hmmm...perhaps I expected too much. Okay, not great. So much potentional but this one falls short.

Not a great chocolate stout. Rather tart and thin. Underwhelming and, all in all, mediocre.

Very alcoholic nose with a touch of coffee. Flavor is unremarkable with bitter malt, stale coffee, and no determinable trace of chocolate. I am not fond of this, and do not recommend it, especially if you are a stout lover.

Pours a dark brown, with a nice 2" head. Very little lacing. Dark chocolate and roasty malt flavors. Could detect no molasses in it though. Was really expecting a creamier, sweeter taste.

On-tap, served in a standard bar pint glass. Arrived to where I was sitting looking just like I expected it would, deep dark chocolate color with a compact brownish tan head of creamy foam, good retention, a ring of curtain lacing followed the head down as I consumed it. No complaints here about how this stout looks. The sour milky lactose dominates the smell at bit too much for me, a tad less would be fine. In the back of aroma is a lot light brown cocoa powder and touches of sugary syrup molasses. A little more balance and you would have a nice sweet and sour effect going on. The chocolates play more of a role in the taste than in the aroma, sweet light chocolate with some bittersweet chips that meld with molasses and milky lactose flavors, sort like a chocolate bar dunked in buttermilk. The hops don’t have much of a presence, just adding a subtle orange fruitiness to the mix with an slight hop spiciness coming out towards the end. Finishes with an lingering roasted malt coffee nuttiness. The alcohol is a barely noticeable low grade warmth in the back of the palate. Well, I liked the Cocoa Loco, it would it quite easy to consume a couple of these in row. A pleasantly enjoyable stout.
