Draft at Blind Tiger. Dark brown pour with thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, some cream, and roasted malt. Flavor is pretty much the same; mild but not unpleasant.

Dark brown with a big brown head. Aroma of milk and chocolate. Flavor of milk, chocolate and a little alcohol. Body is thin. Has a long sweet and milky finish.

Pours a dark mahogany to melted dark chocolate color. A small, frothy tan head settles quickly to a thin, swirly film. Skinny lines of snake like lacing circle the glass. The aroma is just as advertised, melted dark and light chocolates, roasty grains, and hints of dry foreign yeast strains. The flavor follows suit, with chocolate being the main attraction and roasted barley providing structure. Coffee is present, though its seems to be an afterthought. Again, the foreign yeast adds an odd, slightly lactic twist. Medium bodied and smooth, with a short, dry, roasty finish. Pretty solid brew, but it didn’t knock my socks off.

22 oz. bottle via trade with mruesch - Pours a dark brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma and flavor is dark milk chocolate and roasted malt. Mouthfeel is a little thin and dry. Has a lingering dry malt aftertaste. Light to medium body. A good beer. Thanks Matt.

Bottle. Poured a blackish-brown color with a medium brown head. Good lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and molasses. Mouthfeel was thin and kinda watery. Flavor was malty with touches of chocolate and coffee. Not as flavorful as I would have liked, but decent nonetheless.

No doubt, this is my favorite of the big bottle series. Unfortunately, that’s not saying much at all. It’s definitely got chocolate, but it’s the dry kind you’ll find in Ommegang’s Chocolate Indulgence. (Sweet mother of malt, did I just compare these two beers?!) Not a whole lot of depth or complexity to this one, just a lingering, rather pleasant sweetness that saves what is otherwise a middle-of-the-road brew.

dark brown/black with faint reddish highlights when held to the light. pillowy dark tan head. cocoa aroma overpowers with a sweet, charred undertone -- like burnt sugar. Flavors are full of bitter cocoa with a round, sweet middle and long bitter finish. Almost seems to get most of the bitterness from charred grains.

Black colour with a small tan head. Malty, fruity and yeasty aroma and taste with a light dusty note.
