Smooth and sweet, with some light acidity and bitterness in the finish (still remaining smooth). Quite full bodied, and definitely chocolatey. Dogbrick (2907), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Sampled at From The Vine beer tasting Oct 19th, 2007: Pours jet black with a medium thick tan head that does not have a lot of legs. Spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate and roasted malt, along with touches of coffee. Medium-bodied and creamy smooth with dark chocolate/mocha flavor with a little touch fo hops. The finish is chocolatety with a relatively short finish. Overall this beer really leans toward the chocolate side as the name implies, unfortunately to its detriment. Were this beer a little more rounded it would be a lot better. MadIndian (997), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

Appearence led me to believe this would be great. Nice black pour looked thick. Strong coffee/chocolate aroma and the taste was very stong with it as well. Not blended the wayy I would have liked it. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 18, 2007 22oz bottle. Aroma: Light roasted malt with notes of chocolate milk, dusty grains, and light alcohol. Appearance: Dark brown in color with small walnut highlights. Medium tan head was full and frothy with fair retention. Not much lacing. Flavor: Roasted malt with notes of cigarette smoke, and cocoa. Some light sourness halfway in. Palate: Medium bodied and watery. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Not so good. Light aroma leads to a flat mess of a flavor with a thin palate. jaymobrown (1361), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Coffee, malt and yeast flavors. Quite carbonated. Sticks to the tongue throughout. Decent. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
