A dark almost black pour with a tan head. A hard semi swee flavor of chocolate that changes to a hard bitter finish (like extra dark choco). Good even carbonation and mouthfeel that combine to make this a nice beer. Good beer but a bit rough around the edges. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Black, more or less opaque, with a big, but short-lived light brown head. Lightly sweet nose, touch of molasses, some metallic notes. Dry, musty flavor, a hint of sulphur, surprisingly boring. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

Big aroma of roasted malt, and chocolate. Flavor is moderately sweet with chocolate, molasses, sticky malt, and a hint of coffee with a light bitterness finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Bottle - 22oz. Pour mainly consists of a massive brown head with a little bit of a dark brown body sitting at the bottom of the glass. As the head dies down, khaki lacing begins to form on the side of the glass. Aroma smells of alcohol... that’s about it... chocolate if I’m feeling generous and being swayed by what I expect from the label, but I’m not picking it up clearly. Flavor is roasted malt and chocolate with a bit of a peat/smoke aftertaste that develops before fading back into chocolaty overtones. Disappointment. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Bottle. Almost black with a rather small head. Aroma and flavour of vomit, moldy flourbags, chocolate and hops. Hopefully this is not the way it’s supposed to be. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Pours pitch black with no head. Nose is subdued. Slight amount of stout character. The chocolate just barely gets out to your nose. I am giving it a 3 because for a double stout, this should be showing my nose a bit more. Flavor is more towards the roasted side with a slightly metallic after taste. Feel is low on bubble, thick on liquid. Sorry, but I have to give this one low scores. Cocoa Loco? Where’s the cocoa man?? A sad example of the style. And for the price...forget about it. jsquire (2115), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Dark beer with a foamy chocolate milk head. The nose has the dark chocolate you would expect, with something lactic in it. Dusty chocolate, raisen toast and that lactic acidity. Decent chocolate beer.
