Simple aromas of roasted malt and charcoal. I catch a touch of licorice when I search for more, but even that maybe a stretch. LIght feel, not quite silky and not watery, seems to be simple again. Semi-sweet chocolate flavors seem to dominate. A herbal hops presence is wondering about from the start through the linger; dry herb, grass and light dry spice. Reminds me of a dark chocolate bar with some green nibs. My interest is piqued as things seem a bit amiss. An end of an evening type stout, like a cup of coffee for the road. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Pours mahogany with a small dark tan head. Slight aroma of chocolate, a hint of coffee and sweet cream, and just a bit of fruity berry notes in there. Wow, really not much to the flavor either. Watered down coffee, cream, a bit of sugar, and some cocoa powder. At least the palate is nice, but nothing special. Medium body, almost none-existent finish, but a very nice velvety mouth-feel. Uninteresting and fairly disappointing, maybe if this was a 5 or 6 $ sixer it could pull it’s weight a bit more. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Kind of disappointed with a name like Triple Chocolate Stout. Sort of bitter taste, and no where near what I thought a Triple Chocolate Stout should be like. Not very chocolatey at all and really not a lot of coffee flavor either. Just sort of bland. henrikb (1305), Aarhus, Denmark
