Sep 4, 2007 (22oz bottle) Medium brown head atop brown-black body. Aroma is rich, moderately sweet, dark chocolate, roast, some molasses, light cinnamon. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some roast, lactic sourness, molasses. Creamy medium-full body, slightly undercarbonated. Sadly, the flavor doesn’t live up to the exquisite nose.

Sep 3, 2007 Bottle sampled on 5/23/07: Pours an opaque black with a nicely-lacing dark tan head. Slightly tart, dark chocolate and plum aroma has a hint of earthiness. Starts with a decent viscosity and some sweet dark caramel and sticky malt. Finishes slightly drier and bittersweet with a hint of warmth. A decent foreign stout.

Sep 3, 2007 bottle - Pours very dark brown with a small head. The aroma is dark chocolate and roast malt. It’s sweet to the taste and chocolate continues to be the dominant theme here. With a name like Cocoa Loco, that’s not exactly a shock. Medium bodied and finishing with some light bitterness, this is a good quaff.

Sep 1, 2007 Bottle, at London Shindig, August 2007. Very dark, almost black, appearance. Not surprisingly, chocolate dominates pretty much all aspects of this beer. Quite creamy on the palate with some sweetness but there’s a nice bite on the finish. Very tasty. It may be a touch one dimensional but it would be churlish to hold that against it. And I love the chocolate anyway. Love the picture on the label too.
