Actually a good well balanced stout. SuIIy (1467), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Really fantastic drink. More beer like than Choklat and heavier than Young’s DCS. Somewhere in a happy medium between the two in chocolate profile. Very tasty, aroma is tops. Really enjoyed this beer. zach8270 (2126), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Dark brown pour with a creamy looking tan head. Aroma is sweet and lightly fruity. Lots of chocolate and cream mixed with roasted malts. Quite inviting. Flavor is very roasty and malty with a copious amount of coffee and cream. The middle is roasted and toasted malts with some dark fruits near the end. Didn’t taste much chocolate but it was still very good. [[1600th Rating]] Brigadier (1246), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

At $2.99 I was willing to take a chance on this. Despite being on the shelf for a while I figured it would still be decent. After trying it I am glad I did not pay more; if I want a second opinion I will be tracking down a 12 oz bottle to rerate. Flawed and little more than one dimensional this is not one to actively track down.
Aroma / Appearance - The half finger ash brown head was more interesting than the lifeless muddy brown body below. The nose was a faint mixture of dry roasted coffee beans, unprocessed cocoa, and not much more. Mild for a stout it lacks anything to set it apart.
Flavor / Palate - Watery with a weak combination of stout, chocolate, and raspberry it needs more presence than it has. I’m not sure how old the bottle I opened was but it can’t have gone downhill that badly in the time since it was bottled. At best this would be average fresh. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Bottle. Strong coffee, roasted malt aroma. Black in color with a chocolate milkshake color head. Smooth texture to this body.. A little to thin for my liking in the finish, would like it a bit stronger. Overall a good chocolate stout but many better ones out there.
