Not much chocolate in this one. Flavor consists mostly of roasted malts with a hint of smoke and dark fruit. Mouthfeel is too thin and watery. Overall, just an average stout. jb (1058), Rochester, New York, USA

Great looking, black with a decent tan head. Aroma besides the alcohol and faint milk chocolate was minimal. Palate was very oily, sometimes creamy, bitter chocolate. Very enjoyable, nursed this one. satan165 (611), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2008 aroma is just a tad dead but contains plenty of chocolate and a truly deep cocoa flavor which is intreguing. flavor has an interesting sweetness not normally derived from oats or any other sweet porter element. cant quite put my finger on it but its not foul, possibly raspberries or other fruits. color is just a touch translucent around the edges. palate is nothing special but beer is definatley above average overall desipte some very small shortcomings. coyotehunter (557), , Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 3, 2008 bottle...once again arcadia did not fail to disappoint me. this is an ok stout. Light aroma of malt and caramel, pour dark brown with a thin head. taste has notes of milk chocolate, roasted malts and disappointment. Maybe a little prune in there too.Light mouthfeel with appropriate carbonation. Little hints of hops pop in and out.
finishes with a cream stout finish.
Not bad, but probably not again. blipp (1730), Newark, New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2008 On Tap at Novare Res. Pours a dark black with tan/beige head. Head recedes quickly and turns to a ring. Aroma is roasted chocolate and coffee notes. Flavor is pretty much straight up nice bitter/unsweetened chocolate. The complete domination of chocolate in this beer is unmistakable. Boom. Svesse (2683), Hässelby, Sweden

Roasted, malty nose with dark chocolate, coffee, burnt sugar, mocha and chocolate truffles. Roasted, malty taste with notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, strong black coffee, molasses (or dark rhum) and a decent cocoa bitterness in the finish. Medium body, fairly sweet. Nice and chocolatey porter/stout. In short: sweet cocoa and espresso. kalkmanc (2), Holland, Michigan, USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Poured from a 12 oz. bottle served into an English pint. Sight: Pours a chocolaty brown and finishes very dark, not a very large head, but is a creamy brown color. Smell: No distinct aroma for me. Taste: Cannot really taste the chocolate. Initial impressions aren’t that great. Only distinct flavor is a hint of roast. Not the thickness I was hoping for. Little to no lacing. Overall a pretty average beer. Not like most stouts I have tasted.
