john_adam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA Jun 30, 2007 Disappointing. Pours dark brown with brown head. Aroma of chocolate and alcohol. Flavor was of chocolate, sweet malt, and alcohol. It was really smoothe but didn’t really have a taste. It seemed very light which means it hid the alcohol really well.
jjpm74 (3395), Connecticut, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of chocolate and spicy. Tastes of cocoa, bitter chocolate, some roasted malt. Good for what it is. Hollywoodt (169), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Oct 30, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a good tan head. Aroma was of chocolate and malt. Flavor was a good mix of chocolate, malt, and light hops. Not bad. after4ever (1910), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 27, 2008 22. Thanks, 46er3498! Solid black with a big dense creamy tan head and dense sheets of lace. Really gorgeous looking. Big milk-sour, chocolatey nose. After years of grumbling about milk-sour in english porters, I kinda get its purpose now. Still not a fan, but at least I’m no longer actively opposed. Creamy, soft, low-carbed, medium body. Sweet and sour milk and chocolate mid-palate. Mild milky finish. hombrepalo (537), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 23, 2008 Bomber. Pour is the blackest i have ever seen a beer. Aroma is roasted malts and some chocolate. Flavor is chalky and flat. Lots of coffee with some chocolate and some wood smoke. Not overpowering in any catagory, kinda bland in my opinion. DragonStout (1223), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 15, 2008 Pours a deep dark brown color with a 2 finger khaki head.Lots of chocolate aroma.Bitter sweet chocolate flavors that were watery and kinda crisp. Not overly impressed.
