Acidic floral and citrus hop and juicy malt aroma, marigold dust bitterness. Taste follows, more floral pungency. Average body, nice astringency and mild acidity, long floral bitter finish - pretty frickin’ nice. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2008 Bottle. Poured a deep orange amber body with thin head - looked beautiful in my tuilp. Aroma is grapefruit and some strong alcohol which is the same feeling I had with the taste. Very rough. Nephilium (558), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2008 Decent caramel malts, with a bit of citrus hop backing it up. Pours a clear dark amber, with a thin white cap of head. Flavor starts off with caramel sweetness, just a hint of hop bitterness in the end. This is definitely more on the sweet side then I prefer my IIPA’s, but it’s still a very drinkable beer, with no alcohol noticeable in the finish. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2008 Acquired via trade from polomagnifico...Thanks again!!! Sorry, but I’m not sure if you and I are drinking the same beer?!?!? This is an incredible DIPA...fragrant, flavorful, and balanced. Traditional vibrant sunset-colored brew with flashes of red, orange, and yellow in the body. Tight dusty-white head left incredible ringlets around the inside of the glass. Fragrance was a delightful combination of sweet and savory; caramel/toffee followed up with a citrus & spice punch. Taste a delicate balance of sour and sweet. Would place this in the same class as GI Imperial IPA, Devil Dancer and, what the hell, Dreadnaught. World Class. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

On-tap, served in a imperial pint glass.
L: Cloudy bright orangey copper with a bubbly topped, fluffy ecru head, good head retention, a great deal of curtain-like lace follows the body down the glass as I consumed it. A steady flow of micro bubbles going from the bottom of glass to top. This is one impressive looking DIPA.
S: A nicely hop dominate nose, tropical fruits, cantaloupe, grapefruit peels, touches of pine oil and woody, stemmy herbs. Caramel malts softly waft in the background. I like the aroma of Hop Rocket, a taste inducing smell.
F&T: The active carbonation gives the moderate body a softly firm, creamily crisp feel in the mouth, making this quite easy to consume, I am having to fight the impulse to gulp this down. The hops are oily slick and have a resiny stickiness, my tongue is coated with a mild hop induced numbness. Flavors of pine resins and herbal oils, rinds of grapefruits and oranges, sweet apricots and a splash of lemon juice. Sweetness is added by tastes of honey caramel malts. Finishes semi-dry with a lingering citric hop spiciness in the back of the palate.
Well, color me impressed. I believe this is best beer I tried from Arcadia, one of my favorite Michigan breweries. I had passed on the 4 pack bottle version of this a couple of times because of the price, but not anymore. This will be my next beer purchase.
