Jun 18, 2009 Draft in tulip glass at the brewpub. Pours a light amber. Small off white head. Excellent lacing. Strong pine aroma. Big hoppy flavor with lots of carmal. Very thick body. Nice mouthfeel. Really like this one

Jun 17, 2009 In short: A tasty classic American IIPA. Typical in style but above average in quality
How: From the bottle at Montreal Mondial de la Bière 2009
The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nice nose of citrusy and coniferous hops, indubitably American. A nice moderately toasted malt backbone with 2/3 caramel 1/3 honey sweetness. In mouth the hops have a bit of everything with not specific flavour coming on top, fruity, a little pine tree, a little grassy, a little floral, a little resinous. Long finish with a bitterness of medium intensity. No alcohol presence. This is a robust IIPA that is very tasty but not very refreshing. Very straightforward yet most breweries can’t make a solid IPA like this one, as if it was hop rocket science.

Jun 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Dark melon color with a decent head of creamy, lumpy, lacy froth. Resinous and bitter aroma. Flavors are bitter and spicy. This is a rough and tumble IPA. The only smoothness to this is in the finish.

Jun 12, 2009 Had a funky initial aroma - no joke, almost like BO. That soon gave way to a more traditional, quite enjoyable one. Taste was pretty different from aroma - sweet, fruity, yet bitter; very well-rounded and hid alcohol just enough. Taste and feel were superb. Good bitter aftertaste.

Jun 10, 2009 Pint @ South Philadelphia Taproom, Great aroma, Sweet, citrusy, orange, tangerinem honey, toffee. Clean golden orange color, Good head that quickly faded to a ring, Ok lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Thick body, Oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finsih, Tasty brew, Aroma was wonderful to sniff. Flavor didn’t match intensity of aroma, but no slouch either. good stuff.

Jun 8, 2009 Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Amber body with an average off-white foamy head. Malty/hoppy aroma carries some spicy/herbal notes. Sharp hoppy taste with sweet/fruity notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Ends with a long, robust, bitter finish.

Jun 8, 2009 This one poured a lighter ruby red color with a smaller off white head. Aroma was pungant and spicey hops, a bit citrusy as well. Flavor was also dank spical herbal hops, a bit piney and strange fruit flavors as well. A very different and good IIPA
