Taste is well-balanced between hops anc citrus with a hint of alcohol. Very nice beer! wmubronco1992 (180), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Bottle - Carmally/copper color. Huge white head with great retention. Excellent lacing. Woodsy aroma. Nice grassy flavor. Dry finish. Love the mouthfeel. Its a big beer and the big bottle was well deserved. Unlike some of the double IPA’s, Arcadia kept the alcohol level under 10% and thus this big brew is not only excellent, but also very drinkable. JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2008 Aroma is very hoppy and alcoholic but flavor starts on a rather vanilla coppery note with some grapefruit, vanilla and trees in the mix. Back to the aroma, I put vodka in my ferment lock and this is how some of my beers smell through the vodka. Nice dry finish though but body could have more texture. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 24, 2008 Deep red-orange, cloudy, with a huge off-white head. Light, sweet nose, with touches of vanilla and walnuts. Flavor is fairly sweet, a bit astringent, quite bitter, with some touches of tobacco, almonds and walnuts. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 22, 2008 love it!! The fresh hops are now joke in this beer, I compare drinking this beer to biting into a flower. It’s a very floral hopped beer, love it!! Great Success!! Boutip (2346), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2008 Bottle: Poured a cloudy orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of bitter and floral hoppy notes with a big malt backbone. Taste is also dominated by some floral and hoppy notes with a huge light caramel malt backbone. Medium body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. While this beer is very good overall I would have expected more hops for the style. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2008 Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a large, pitted, beige head that leaves behind wispy/patchy lace. The nose is a "dusty", solid grapefruit with a light caramel malt note in support. Also present are lighter supporting notes of spruce and mango. Medium-bodied and soft with a moderate hit of hop bitterness at the woody-dry finish. The flavor is of sweet caramel malt followed by grapefruity citrus and moderately resinous hop notes. The finish is fairly bitter, with a lingering "tongue-squeeze" coming after the swallow. The bittering hops on this brew seem to supersede those used for flavor and aroma. It’s a solid and fairly tasty brew; it’s just not a top tier IIPA.
