not thick and syrupy. Fairly malty up front, kind of biscuty/doughy/bready. Flavour finishes out with a light citrus hop note, kind of grapefruity but still packs some bitterness, though not much. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2008 Draft @ the brewpub. Copper with a light tan head. Good hoppy aroma is citrus and floral. Medium body and smooth. Nice mesh of bready malts and those same citrus and floral hops. Well defined hop flavors here without being overly bitter. A good one. Maria (6167), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2008 Courtesy of Sammy. Hazy orange-brown with a huge, nice, creamy and lasting head. The aroma is nicely hopped with a lot of sweet citrus hops. The flavour has sweet citrus, sweet cantaloupe melon, papaya, caramel and it’s quite harmonic. I would have preferred it to have a better bitterness and maybe to be a little less sweet. But it’s charming as it is. nefarious (203), Clarkston, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2008 reddish brown appearance, sweet citrus aroma. light flavor unusual for a IPA especially a double! I could taste the alcoho alot more than I though considering the lower 8.1 rating. mouth feel is ok and the finish is disappointing. Its not bad I rather like it, I guess I had my expectations a little high for this. I would drink it more though. Odeed (1673), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Updated: Dec 24, 2008Bottle shared by Robert! In a night of tasting a couple different double IPA’s this one was my least favorite. It was still a decent beer, the only knock I have on it is, that is was to sweet. Lots of maltyness as everyone else says. As others point out that it was made with English hops which have never been to my liking as well. Over all not a bad beer at all, I just would not get it again.*****Update******Gave it a second chance... Original score was a 3.3. Dark red in color, decent head. Aroma of bitter english hops. This one wasnt as sweet as the last one I had. A little more balanced. Overall a solid DIPA.
