Commercial Description:
The first in our Brew Crew Big Beer Series, Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA should be finding its way to a store near you. Huge Maris Otter malt and a generous amount of fresh hops combine to make this extremely balanced ale remarkable.

22 oz. bottle via trade with Linus Stick - Pours a hazy amber color with a large two finger thick off white head that lasts. Thick layered lacing. Aroma is citrus and herbal hops and light toasted malt. Flavor is mostly hops but not overly bitter. Has a lingering astringent aftertaste. Medium to full body. A pretty good beer. Thanks Alan.

Pours copper with small white head. Aroma is caramel all the way. Flavor is sweet lots of caramel and just a sickly sweetness. Grapefruit and some citrus with a touch of pine but not big on hop flavor just a lot of resin and big caramel sweetness. Where are the hops?

Bomber from acrdz. Pours a nice reddish copper color with a bubbly thin head and great lace. Aroma seems a little dulled. Perhaps a little oxidized, but I get notes of grapefruit, citrus, and some floral hops with some moderately sweet caramel malts and lots of alcohol at 8.1%. Not a bitter hop bomb, but pleasantly fruity with only some toasty balancing malt. Flavors of grapefruit, orange, and lighter sweet/tart fruit, and floral/piney hops. A nice soft bitterness citrus rind flavor lingers on the palate. Alcohol is barely detectable on the palate. Nicely drinkable.

candy citrus and very busy grapefruit hop number with a slick and fully sweet and caramel malt type enhancement. strikes you first as a one dimensional power ipa. but then you notice the candy dimension that is quite pleasurable. good thing the alcohol is not too strong because the drinkability could knock you out with company to occupy you. pineapple flavors and yes it is lush. don’t miss it. very good balance. hyper foamy head just try to pour six ounces in a glass!

22oz bottle from Liquor Barn, no best-by date - Pours dark ruby with a gushing foamy tan head. Aroma of cherry, sour acids, citrus, and grapefruit. Taste is sour, caramel, citrus hops. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, lightly resinous and soapy with lush carbonation. Infected and not pleasant. Poured at least half down the drain. Check the best by date on these bottles, and if you don’t see one, don’t buy it. I’ve had several infected Arcadia bottles recently.

Pours hazy amber into a snifter. Off-white pancake head leaves sheet lacing as it slowly recedes. Mild citrus and resin aromas. Crisp, well-balanced caramel and pine. Sharp finish. More like an American strong. I like the lack of sugar.
