This IIPA poured a hazy amber/orange color with a thin beige head that quickly faded away. The aroma of this beer was full of caramel and grapefruit notes. A good amount of hoppiness in the smell. The flavor was mostly citrus hops with a touch of caramel. The mouthfeel was a bit thin for a double. I was hoping for a little more of a resiny look on the sides of the glass. With that said, this is still a solid effort from Arcadia. beerguy101 (3862), Newark, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 16, 2007 This Imperial IPA pours a medium orange color from a 22oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange, malt and caramel. Medium bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are caramel, biscuit and orange, Hops are citrus, grapefruit and piney. Touch of alcohol bite. About a medium bitterness IPA. There is a nice residual malt sweetness in this one. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. eaglefan538 (2358), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 15, 2007 On tap at the Blind Tiger in NYC. Poured an amber type color, weak initial head and lacing, not off to a great start. The aroma was caramel, some pine resin. The flavor was a little watered down, some caramel, pine hops, light breadiness, needed more citrus. For a style that has a lot of potential, this was pretty weak. Watery mouthfeel, needed more umph all the way around: malts and hops. Not a turnoff, just short of the style’s potential. unclemattie (2401), Georgia, USA

Surprising light hop flavor for a double IPA but still good. A damn good beer as beer goes, but compared to other DIPA’s a bit soft. I expected to get beat down in an alley by a gang of hops. Still I would drink it everyday. Happily. kwoeltje (1315), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2007 (bottle) lovely dark amber with moderate off-white head. Pine aroma jumps out. But the hops aren’t as obvious in the flavor, and it has a slightly soapy finish. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Poured a cloudy amber with a large fizzy/fluffy white head. Aroma is light for a double IPA, some grapefruit, light pineapple, some cinnamon spiciness, a bit of orange. Flavor is bitter with some earthy grassiness, a slight touch of orange, finishing with some sticky dry toffee. Body is somewhat soft. Overall bitter but subdued, with slightly underwhelming hop complexity. Surprising to find this was reforumlated from Batch #999, as I found that distinctly hoppier. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA
