Aroma of citrus, breadiness, molasses, and some pine. Flavor of toasted malt, hops, and a hint of fruitness with a bitter, sweet finish. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Cloudy light orange body. The head is off-white and slowly diminishing. Lacing left in its wake is thick and nicely webbed. Still, this beer looks sickly, the orange color certainly isn’t a pleasant shade. Semi-sweet aroma of sour grapefruit, orange rinds, light malts and a fruitbowl that’s been baking in the back porch sun all afternoon. Flavor is less sweet. Notes of more grapefruit and orange(now fresh tasting) are joined by grassiness, a thinned malt presence, caramel squares and some wood. Medium-light mouthfeel, with a nice balance between acidic hop resin and smooth malts. Finishes moderately dry and of reasonable length. Not bad, not impressive by any stretch though. guzzler67 (1277), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Cloudy, dark amber appearance with an average size beige head and good lacing. Resinous hop aroma, fruity, with malts in the background. Smooth, sweet malt flavor balanced by citrusy, piney hops. Medium-to-full bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel leading to a fairly dry, long lasting finish. GoBlue (101), Falls Church, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Pours copper with lasting white head. Huge floral nose with citrus undertones reminescent of orange blossoms. Tons of hop flavor and sweetness with bitter finish. Could use some more malt to balance as it is somewhat cloying. Beer really show off the hops, but needs more support. Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2007 For me, the aroma was much more appetizing than the taste. But then again, the aroma is supposed to entice and the taste to quench. So it would probably be better to say that ultimately this is an enticing beer but not one that quenches one’s thirst for a double IPA. Smell of circus peanuts and Pine-Sol. Tasted somewhat soapy with a dry finish.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 16, 2007 Courtesy Fantomas23. Pours a pretty dark amber with a light white head. Somewhat hazy. Very interesting smell for a double IPA. You get the hops at first but the longer you smell it becomes spicy, almost like some sort of Mexican food. Very unique. Pretty big hoppy taste up front, but mellows out towards the end, but develops a certain sweetness to it. Pretty smooth for a double IPA, and the hops werent ungodly overpowering which was pleasant. rudolf (1751), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 15, 2007 Deep gold, light tan head. Nose is sticky resin, pine, butterscotch, quite sweet and rich. Flavor is malt, resin, sweet malty goodness. Unique but not really my thing. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 15, 2007 Pours brown-amber with moderate white head. Aroma of sweet citrus caramel malts. Characterized by nice citrus bitterness. Sweet malts balance this quite well. Not complex enough for a rave review however.
