weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 8, 2006 Appears a hazy, dense amber with a small 1 finger, off-white head that slowly fades into a small cap. Scattered amounts of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of biscuit, light caramel, honey, brown sugar, citrusy, pine, and some of those orange slice candies.
Taste is of the same aromas with a sweet, sugary, orange flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sweet, slick, semi-dry, mildly bitter, along with orange peel and a balanced amount of citrusy that teeters on sugary and bitter. BigBeer45 (676), Troy, Michigan, USA Nov 6, 2006 Bomber, poured a orangy, gold amber, lots of off-white bubbles that wouldn’t stop and hung around, nice lacing, sweet malt and flowering hop fragrance, citrus and pine scents, nice balance of malt sweetness and hop bite on the tongue, little citrus taste with some toffee flavor, some grapefruit juice, semi dry on the palate, nice IIPA. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 5, 2006 Updated: Aug 27, 2007Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh this beer poured an orange-copper color with a medium sized orange-white head. The aroma is strong grapefruity and floral hops. The flavor is sweet and has strong grapefruity and piney hops and a dry bitter finish. The hops linger but there really is a noticeable lack of malt. The beer is very one dimensional and bit lacking though there are some nice elements. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Nov 5, 2006 Bottled. Hazy golden with a huge dense off white head. Piney and perfumed. Very hoppy and sharp - not very balanced. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Oct 31, 2006 31.10.06 Bomber. Lightly hazy copper-amber color with lingering off-white head. Aroma is lighlty herbal, strongly resinous, and moderately grapefruit pithy. Malts come through in aroma as biscuity and bready with background hints of butter. Mild buttery flavors carry into the front of each sip but are quickly overrun by blisteringly resinous hops. Overall the body is light to medium and the eff is appropriately fine to match. lingering aftertaste of black tea. This is not the best bottle of Hopmouth I’ve had, but it’s still very tasty. What a treat to have Arcadia beers now available in NJ! Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 29, 2006 Updated: Jun 22, 2007Partly glcoudy orange-copper body with a medium white head. Intense floral hops aroma (smells simcoe-ish). Taste was a bit of a letdown as it was unfortunately dominated by alcohol (at “only” 8.3%, that’s not good). Starts off with some nice caramelized malt flavours in a but is quickly taken over by the alcohol. Some tree bark. Medium bitterness. Good beer that could have been excellent if only the hops could have bee as intense in the taste as it was in the aroma. Ironic, the problem with this Hopmouth is that I didn’t feel much hop in my mouth. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Oct 28, 2006 Sampled from tap at the "Arcadia Brewing Big Beer Special Release Party" at the Dilly Deli on 10/25/2006...
Clear, copper color with an ivory crown. Moderate carbonation. Floral and citrus hop aroma and flavor. There is also some lightly toasted malt in the flavor. Slightly dry flowery hop finish. Very well balanced and not too overpowering on the hops. Average body and mouthfeel. A very drinkable Double IPA.
16 oz draught, $4.00 at the Dilly Deli. imanerd (37), Novi, Michigan, USA Oct 11, 2006 Everybody has described it as well, if not better than i could. It’s tough to find a good 2IPA around, so this has become one of my best friends.
