Bottle (650ml). Hazy orange with a solid foamy creamy lasting off-white head. Very hoppy aroma of bitter citrus pith, quite dry and wheat/grainy, soft and a little lactic with tangy tropical fruit notes. Taste is sweeter and juicier than I’d imagined, sweet citrus juice malt initially, then the bitter pith hops begin to build to a longish bitter but not overwhelming finish. Decent body, quite astringent, bordering on acidic, but well balanced - very good, not quite great, but I would drink this again any day.

Bottle shared with blankboy, jerc and tupalev at the hotel after the MBG Summer Festival - jerc’s bottle. Hazy dark amber with a good sized off-white head. Aroma is nicely hopped, with those wonderful grapefruit and pineapple notes that I really like. Mouthfeel is soft and creamy, very nice. Flavour is big and well balanced, with the citric, resiny hops backed up nicely by sweet caramel malts. A very well made IIPA, and a great way to cap off a day of drinking fantastic beer!

Bottle... Very hazy orange ale with a large, frothy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Malty, fruity nose with lots of freshly sliced grapefruit, pineapple, peach and dashes of evergreen and black tea. Hefty malt backbone with lots of hop bitterness for good balance. Flavors of grapefruit, toffee and apricot. Full-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Lengthy, dry, grassy finish. A shout goes out to WBC for shipping me the bottle!

Clear reddish amber pour under a tall rocky off-white head. Very fragrant brew with pine resin and grapefruits bubbling out of the settling head. Citrusy and hoppy flavor but not as well balanced as other impy IPAs. Rich and smooth mouthfeel and a sinister (in a good way) bitter finish with some alcohol sneeking out every half sip or so.

Following Michigan Brewers Festival 2006. Bottle. Orange amber body with a creamy beige head. Resiny mild aroma with sweet orange presence. Very sweet citrusy orange hops. Flavour becomes more resiny and bitter as the glass goes on. Deep rooted sweet malt has only brief moments of prominence but manages to keep a good semblance of balance throughout. Medium palate is perfect for this beer. Quite nice! 7-8/4/7-8/4/16

As Milewide said, this is pretty good, but very harsh. Something in the balance is missing, and there is a strong alcoholic finish that makes me cringe as if I just sucked on a lemon. Pretty good.

Red amber color. Less hop citrus and bitter flavors than other double IPAs that I’ve tried. Solid mouth feel.

Pours a cloudy orange with a thick lasting head that looks like a half pint of milk with a shot of dr.pepper in it (which really is kind of tasty). Mint aroma with the prerequisite pine, and grass notes. Dusty taste. Pine and grass flavor that is muted with a pepto bismol flavor that while not unpleasant is unwelcome here. Finish is alcohol and paper with dry grass. I’ve sat here for a while trying to put more words to this, but they are not needed. While not unpleasant this beer is unremarkable.
