Piwo (6), Poland does not count Mar 13, 2009 I like IPAs a lot so this was easy for me to enjoy. Some citrusy sweet flavors and a nice alcoholic bite. Not as bitter as you would think, give the name. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Mar 13, 2009 Had this at the rave beer tasting in Novi. I was only given a little sample, but I thought it was just ok. It basically just tasted like a hopped up(mind the pun) version of arcadia IPA, which I also didn’t think was too great. It was a little one sided, not really balanced at all. ben4321 (948), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 9, 2009 Updated: Mar 23, 2009Location: 22 ozer...I believe it was from Norm’s, but couldn’t say with 100% certainty...September ’08
Overall Impression:
Nice double IPA, classic IPA-style flavor to it, with a semi-sweet finish. Not a super unique beer, but highly drinkable with a nice flavor, and a solid representation of a great style.
Foxbush (452), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 7, 2009 Updated: Mar 10, 2009This was purchased at the Caboose in Ashland. It is a wonderful IPA. The alcohol is perfect and the hops were a mouthful The citrus flavors and full body make for a pleasnat experience. The head was while with some lacing. I will look for this ale again. I enjoy the complex taste and higher alcohol of IPA. This IPA is good example why I enjoy the hoppier ales. It is a pleasure to enjoy anytime. AskForJenny (626), Ontario, New York, USA Mar 3, 2009 22oz - Cloudy red/orange liquid with a thin tan head. Good lacing despite no real head. Floral nose, hoppy blast, bitter finish, missing the malt I expect in the middle. Good not great in a competitive style. dwaggs2 (530), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Mar 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange color with a decent head. Aroma is earthy, pine, and floral hops. Flavor is spruce and pine. Very smooth aftertaste for an IPA. Good mouth feel and easy to drink. tsetlock (66), Livonia, Michigan, USA Feb 25, 2009 An amber color brew with some off white head. Decent lacing. Light dough / grain aroma. An acidic feel in the mouth, results with a dry-bitter finish. Unlike some of the double IPA’s, Arcadia kept the alcohol level under 10% and thus this big brew is not only excellent, but also very drinkable. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Feb 21, 2009 Bottle. Murky amber pour. Small tan head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Very resinous hop notes to this combined with caramel and sweet malts. Taste is citrusy but sweet with light pine, citrus oils, caramel, candied orange and chewy malts. Rather sweeter than the aroma but even more resinous. Body is medium-full with lots of bitterness and oiliness on the palate. Carbonation is medium as well. Finishes with a stronger sweetness than bitterness. More candied orange, caramel, sweet malts, some hints of sponge cake, citrus fruits, hop oils and pine round this out. Delicious!
