SamGamgee (1395), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Feb 14, 2009 22oz bottle. Opaque orange-brown color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of mellow, fruity hops with orange and apricot, and a fat malt sweetness. Malty caramel flavor, with light biscuit, and fruity hop flavor. Pretty light on the bitterness, but shows some floral snap in the finish. medium-full body with tight carbonation. Really tame and balanced DIPA. Pleasing aroma, but definitely leaves the hophead wanting. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Feb 11, 2009 12oz bottle 2/11/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a heavy haze orangish/amber body with a small covering for a head. Aroma of malt, hops, pine, and slight alcohol. Taste of the same with a bit of sourness on the back end. Every time I have Arcadia there is some sort of infection or funk. This full bodied brew is not bad but a bit mild for a double. I would like to try a fresh Arcadia. aaaaaaaaaah (61), Warren, Michigan, USA Feb 11, 2009 Average frothy white head with good lacing and average head longevity. Aroma of light doughy malt with moderate resin hops. Initial flavor of mild hops, orange and citrusy followed by a mild smooth slightly sweet malt and finished with a hoppy sappy surprisingly non-bitter finish. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Feb 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange amber body with a tan head. Loads of hop resins, pine, and grapefruit. Hints of peach and citrus. Spicy with a nice alcohol warming. Solid beer. crazyvin (1245), New York, USA Feb 5, 2009 A nice slightly opaque copper-orange hue, with a nice frothy white head that seemed to have nice retention and some lacing. Aroma had big pine notes, resinous indeed and a mild grapefruit note. Flavor was mostly pine like hops, some mellow caramel-like malts balanced it out but slightly. A crisp finish. Narnad (681), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Feb 1, 2009 Pours a murky, copper-orange color with medium carbonation and a very big, thick, frothy, off-white head that reminds me of meringue pie. Aroma has a very sweet note to it from the malt with citrus and a tropical fruit scent. The Marris Otter does come through first in the flavor but the hops quickly takes over giving a citrus, grassy bitterness and finishes with a real strong lemon tea flavor. The mouth feel is decent, alcohol is hidden well and my cold beer was way over carbonated, I could not pour more than a about 3 tablespoons of beer before it would foam up big. Overall, the head retention on this beer as well great, the head created was great but the flavor was just okay. bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 1, 2009 Draft: Pours a dark bronze with a sizeable white head. Nose was big on the grapefruit with some additional notes of pine, peach and some light malts. Medium-full bodied...flavor is sharp and bitter, the citrus comes through nicely but their seems to be something missing. Not very resin-y or piney, the hoppy finish is almost earthy and seems to throw this thing out of whack. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Feb 1, 2009 Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy amber color. Sweet and strongly hoppy aroma with apricot, mango and grapefruit. Very hoppy bittersweet flavor with grapefruit, apricot and chewy maltiness.
Good hop aroma, a bit too chewy.
