Dec 30, 2008 Nice lace and head with an amber hue. Rich texture. Fruity apple, orange and lemon accented by caramel and alcohol nips. Grassy, piney, zingy hops. Decent brew.

Dec 30, 2008 From bottle thanks to JoeMcPhee. Rich, fruity.citrus with spices in the aroma. Full of delicious hops. Hazy, orange in colour with a thin white head. lace all the way through. Hopped ale, very bitter and slightly fruity, which leaves a cool bitter tang. Delicious hopped IPA.

Dec 28, 2008 Got this on cask at the HopCat in Grand Rapids, MI. Orange pour with a clingy, sticky white head. Bitty, piney nose. Flavor tastes more like a heavier IPA than a Double IPA. Maybe a bit caramel. The Shorts IPA I had afterwards was much more hoppy. Thinnish Palate, kind of boozy. Pretty disappointing, but Im not surprised.

Dec 18, 2008 cloudy ruby pour. nice chalky head. nose of booze and a big balance -- big malt is terrorized by hops. big nose of booze though considering this is only 8%. big balance in the taste and again a slight bite of booze but small burn. this is almost a better strong ale then an IIPA, id almost prefer less balance and more overwhelming hops for the style. still this is good stuff. mouthfeel is low on the syrup scale. not a totally clean finish but it doesnt hang out like the worst of them.

Dec 17, 2008 bottle) lovely dark amber with moderate off-white head. Pine aroma jumps out. But the hops aren’t as obvious in the flavor, and it has a slightly soapy finish,overall easy drinking dipa.

Dec 10, 2008 12 oz. bottle, snifter served. Deep amber pour with an off white head and nice, clingy lace. The aroma has more pine than citrus, a little floral scent, and a bit of soapiness. Flavor is light fruit, resin, and citrus, a little malty sweetness with a modest hop bitterness, but not imperial caliber.

Dec 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours red orange with a beige head. Sweet hoppy aroma with citrus fruits. The flavor is well balanced with sweet malt and citric hops. Pretty good.
