Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/brown with a thick off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and caramel malts. Flavor of caramel malt initially and a nice citrusy and grapefruity hop bite. Pretty good beer!

Pours a darker shade of amber, slightly hazy with a thick off-white head. Has an herbal and spruce-like aroma. Has a big toffee/caramel, Marris Otter malt presence with notes of wood, pine/spruce, grapefruit and a hint of raisin on the back end. Moderately sweet, with an ample amount of resinous hops - very balanced; think of an English interpretation of a double IPA. Medium bodied , moderate carbonation. Good head retention. Good beer, but not quite at the level of some of the other double IPAs.

On tap at xnoxhatex’s wedding reception spring 2009! Pours a caramel brown with a nice dense white froth. Strong piney bitter salty C-hop aroma, just a little funky. Very bitter moldy funky salty aggressive hops with smooth mildly rich caramel base. Medium bodied caramel sticky with softer big bubbly carbonation. Not great.

Dark amber pour with a big creamy white head. Nice balanced hop aroma. Flavor is smooth and mellow. Not as harsh as I expected but very nice.

Slightly chill hazed orangey bronzed color with a medium stack of off-white froth. Good lacing in a stringy-like sheeting. Aroma is juicy and pungent with a solid citrusy sweetness of sappy caramel, marmalade oranges, and peachy pineapple. A bit of sugary sweetness and piney alcoholic floral notes make up some waftyness as it warms. Taste is quite tropical. Solidly robust in malts and rounded fruityness that renders a big citrusy realm of orange, peach, mango, pineapple, and a piney bite as it fades across the finish. Fairly resin coated and chewy in a fruity tilted hop abundance, but well tuned in a balance of adequate malty sweetness and sugared breads. A decent enough 2IPA for its bounty of taste. Body is rounded and full with a juicy roundedness thats not overly bittered but does carry a fairly big hoppy taste of citrus fruits and juices that may be over the top for some not use to the style. Otherwise, I find it quite easy going and smoothy bitten with citrusy fruits and piney dryness. Alcohol is a tad soupy and sudsy after a while with some off, uneasyness squeezing through. Drinks down fine enough too. A thoroughly well developed brew that fits the style well without being overly abrasive or too sweet.

Pours an opaque caramel color with the tiniest head. A big citrus hop aroma that has a sweet side. Flavor is aggressive with a complex fruit profile. The fruit is both tart and sweet and that sweetness is what balances the more tart hops. Caramel is not significant. Warmer temp brings a peppery spice that adds a resonant quality to the beer. This is delightfully refreshing. I found this to be unique, flavorful, and interesting. In other words the essence of craft brewing.
