Pours a carbonated amber with huge frothy white head. Aroma is caramel sweet, orange peel and grapefruit. Flavor is moderately sweet, piney, grapefruit, orange and caramel malt. Finishes long bitter and dry, medium to full body.

I was a little surprised I hadn’t had this beer already. Pours a copper color with a thin off white head. Big hop aroma of citrus and pine. Well balanced. I thought this was a very solid imperial IPA. Great flavor.

22 oz. brown bomber bottle. Must be an old sample, because the best buy on the side label ended in 2006. Poured out a hazy orange color, with a sticky tan head. Aromas are of hops mostly, with weak malts in the background. Certainly not fresh by any stretch of the imagination. Pedestrian flavors overall, if the ABV wasn’t high, it’d have been tossed by now by any other brewer.

Splendid bouquet of caramel and hops, all the citrus fruits are there. Murky ochre color with a thick peach colored head. Medium bodied with fruity esters, like jolly ranchers, but considerably less sweet. Cherry, lemon, orange, and perhaps a bit of fig. Piney bark finish. Tasty and well hopped, but probably well below 60 IBUs. I think I like it better that way.

wow, this one is nice. very well balanced, not over the top at all. Smooth as silk with a nice dark copper body. Poured with a thin head that dissappeared quickly. I’m going to enjoy this one.

Pours copper with small white head. Aroma is caramel all the way. Flavor is sweet lots of caramel and just a sickly sweetness. Grapefruit and some citrus with a touch of pine but not big on hop flavor just a lot of resin and big caramel sweetness. Where are the hops?

On tap at Capone’s. Pours mostly clear orange with a huge head. Head retention is medium and left good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit hops and a little oily resin
Flavor is pine, citrus, caramel malt. Malt backbone is present, but doesn’t really balance the intense hops. Long, bitter finish. This is really very good.

Ruby brown body, fluffy white head and thick, spotty lacing. Lemon, orange, and apple fruit aromas followed by a hearty caramel scent. The hop aromas are quite soapy with a good evergreen quality. Heavy and sweet with a somewhat balanced hop to malt feeling for this style of beer. It’s quite the malt bomb with a sweet candy apple and caramel flavor followed by plenty of citrus and piny hops. I detect lots of crystal malt giving a good biscuit and nutty flavor. Great beer, enjoyed a 4-pack although it is misleading by today’s DIPA standards.
