Commercial Description:
The first in our Brew Crew Big Beer Series, Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA should be finding its way to a store near you. Huge Maris Otter malt and a generous amount of fresh hops combine to make this extremely balanced ale remarkable.

this was some what of an unusual IIPA...pours dark amber with little head....aroma is unique, and is of cream and floral hops....some earth tones as well...flavor is very similar, but hops seem more citrus-like...definite hints of cream and somewhat soapy....nice palate, and an interesting IIPA

Ruby brown body, fluffy white head and thick, spotty lacing. Lemon, orange, and apple fruit aromas followed by a hearty caramel scent. The hop aromas are quite soapy with a good evergreen quality. Heavy and sweet with a somewhat balanced hop to malt feeling for this style of beer. It’s quite the malt bomb with a sweet candy apple and caramel flavor followed by plenty of citrus and piny hops. I detect lots of crystal malt giving a good biscuit and nutty flavor. Great beer, enjoyed a 4-pack although it is misleading by today’s DIPA standards.

Location: 22 ozer...I believe it was from Norm’s, but couldn’t say with 100% certainty...September ’08

Overall Impression: Nice double IPA, classic IPA-style flavor to it, with a semi-sweet finish. Not a super unique beer, but highly drinkable with a nice flavor, and a solid representation of a great style.

Nice dark copper color with a frothing white head. Aroma of hops, with some floral hints. Taste is well-balanced between hops anc citrus with a hint of alcohol. Very nice beer!

22 oz bomber. Pours to a beautiful, bright, amber color, with a thick, creamy white head, and a moderate carbonation. Lots of good piney and citrus hop aromas flood the nose. The palate is firm, with good pale and caramel malt flavors, with light esters, and some tangy/piney hop flavor. This beer finishes with good pale and sweeet malt up front, then ends with some nice piney/cirtus hop bitterness that lingers. A good example of IPA. With the number of big, over the top double and Imperial IPA’s out there, Hopmouth seems mild. It really is just a good AIPA, and the 8% abv is hidden well, making it a very drinkable beer for its strength. I enjoyed this one.

Pours a hazy brownish copper with an ample dense offwhite head--very appealing. The nose is also quite appealing. Big floral to citrusy hops with a nice underlying well rounded sweetness. Juicy. The mouthfeel is a bit creamy, but not quite as viscous and thick as I’d expect out of an IIPA. The flavor is much more subdued than the aroma would indicate. Caramel sort of malts are overshadowed but a floral to piney hop presence. The bitterness strikes early in a pleasant way and stays on throughout the aftertaste in a more or less even way. Definitely a biting mouthabrading bitterness, though not the sort of bitterness that blows one away. I think I like this one more with each sip. Really hides the alcohol well, and I remember this as being a relatively cheap bomber. I can imagine this being a bit better fresher if this really is a winter brew.

From bottle thanks to JoeMcPhee. Rich, fruity.citrus with spices in the aroma. Full of delicious hops. Hazy, orange in colour with a thin white head. lace all the way through. Hopped ale, very bitter and slightly fruity, which leaves a cool bitter tang. Delicious hopped IPA.

This has a pretty big pine hop nose. Color is hazy copper. Flavor is weird, not as bitter as you think and tastes dirty.
