12oz bottle. Pours hyazy copper with white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and pine and some caramel malt notes. Flavor is piney hops, citrus and caramel malts. Finishes bitter and mouthfeel is medium. Does not have huge amount of hops you expect from a double but this bottle has some age on it. Still a solid brew and I am glad I tried it.

Poured a cloudy light brown color with a pretty big white head. Aroma was of some citrus and just smelled kind of stale and medicinal. Flavor had some hoppiness to it but not a lot of bitterness. The whole thing was a little off and not a IIPA I would ever buy again when I can go out and get a hopslam or hopsickle any day of the week. I tried to rate this higher but when thinking about how much better IIPA’s can be I couldnt do it.

THOUGHTS: Not all that great. Very artificial hops aroma and chemical hop flavor. Hid alcohol fairly well. One of the first DIPAs I haven’t liked. The flavor grew on me a little as it warmed, but it was still not that great. I just really didn’t like this one, even though I do think Arcadia usually brews nice beer. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium, brownish orange with a large, creamy, off-white head that mostly diminished, but left excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate malt, heavy pine, resin and orange hops, alcohol, medicine, Band-aid, soap and chemical. The flavor started out sweet and finished very sweet and bitter (cloyingly sweet and almost an earwax bitterness) with a long duration. There was caramel, piney hops and a little orange, chemicals, Band-aid, and sorta soapy. The medium to full body was syrupy and sticky on the lips with tingly carbonation.

Hazy dark orange with a large fine foam head. Aroma of grassey hops and some sweet malts. Full in the mouth but not thick and syrupy. Fairly malty up front, kind of biscuty/doughy/bready. Flavour finishes out with a light citrus hop note, kind of grapefruity but still packs some bitterness, though not much.

Aroma is very hoppy and alcoholic but flavor starts on a rather vanilla coppery note with some grapefruit, vanilla and trees in the mix. Back to the aroma, I put vodka in my ferment lock and this is how some of my beers smell through the vodka. Nice dry finish though but body could have more texture. NEPA case split beer from Kevin.

Got another bottle of this that I’ll rate soon, but this first one was boring. Not completely, its probably just that I’m in a huge IPA zone and been drinking lots of my favorits lately. But as for first impressions this one failed to do much. Pour is gold and amberish light white head. Aroma of slight citrus with some pine. The malts are a little overpowering for my liking. ho hum.

bottle. Poured out a nice glowing amber color, light head, quickly fading. Floral hop aroma, fresh and crisp. delightful taste of quality hops and malts, well balanced in lots of ways. Excellent finish. One of the top IIPA.
