| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2007 Lemon citrus hops aroma, slightly opaque with an amber color. Flavor is malty with hops bitterness. Little citrus qualities, stronger malt presence. Creamy palate with a short duration. Flavor strengthens and mellows as you drink more. Very smooth and malty with an even hops kick. Very drinkable. AskForJenny (654), Ontario, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2009 22oz - Cloudy red/orange liquid with a thin tan head. Good lacing despite no real head. Floral nose, hoppy blast, bitter finish, missing the malt I expect in the middle. Good not great in a competitive style. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2006 Bottle. Copper clear pour, small persistant head. Big citrus piney hop aroma, some malt, a little bit of alcohol. Predominantly piney hop flavors, citrus as well, and again some caramel malt. Lingering appropriate bitter bite at the end. Body is a tiny bit light. Good IIPA nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2007 Draft. Hazy orange-honey color pour with a white head. Good lacing. This was served to me as a pint for $5... This is a decent IIPA, but there isn’t anything remarkable here. Just a standard East Coast style version. There is something, that I can’t quite put my finger on, that could make this beer better. Maybe it’s a bit more sweetness to coat the inside of the mouth to precede that hop bite. Still, not too shabby. curly (624), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Pours hazy orange-amber with a thick head. Aroma is sweet apple, pear, honey, grapefruit, lemon and is overall sweet. Taste is sweet fruit along with a mild citrus and some pine resin. Pretty balanced beer but leaning to sweet more than bitter. Viper666 (622), Greenfield Park, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2006 Aroma is very modest for an I2PA. The appearance and body are more like the style. The sweetness is balanced nicely by the hop crunch. Palate has some grain and some pine needle prick. Dry hopping would help on the front end. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Pours an amber red with pillowy off white head and decent activity. Aroma is a grassy earthy hop and a bit of malt. Hops have presence but a little understated for a double IPA. The flavor is initially sweet followed by a piney hop bitterness, that isn’t what I’d classify as a dubble IPA strengh. There is carmel malt ballancing and neither the malt or hop overwealm, which is a nice aspect, but it doesn’t have the power I hoped for; hop, alcohol, or otherwise. Malt is a bit buttery and also a bit fruity with a toasty malt finish.
