| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2006 Aroma is very modest for an I2PA. The appearance and body are more like the style. The sweetness is balanced nicely by the hop crunch. Palate has some grain and some pine needle prick. Dry hopping would help on the front end. milewide (619), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Highly ordinary beer. This one could pass as a slightly overhopped pale ale. Some hoppy aftertaste makes this crisp for 8%, but aside from that, this beer wallows in average-ness. Very uninteresting chalky nose. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Pours an amber red with pillowy off white head and decent activity. Aroma is a grassy earthy hop and a bit of malt. Hops have presence but a little understated for a double IPA. The flavor is initially sweet followed by a piney hop bitterness, that isn’t what I’d classify as a dubble IPA strengh. There is carmel malt ballancing and neither the malt or hop overwealm, which is a nice aspect, but it doesn’t have the power I hoped for; hop, alcohol, or otherwise. Malt is a bit buttery and also a bit fruity with a toasty malt finish. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 4, 2007 Bottle, 65cl. Amber colour with a tan head. Floral aroma with notes of citrus & malt. Taste is hoppy. Medium bitterness, a little bit unbalanced. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 31, 2007 Pours a copper color with a nice head. Sweet hoppy aroma, that tastes like a sugar covered grapefruit. Nice balance, but not a DIPA satan165 (608), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2008 cloudy ruby pour. nice chalky head. nose of booze and a big balance -- big malt is terrorized by hops. big nose of booze though considering this is only 8%. big balance in the taste and again a slight bite of booze but small burn. this is almost a better strong ale then an IIPA, id almost prefer less balance and more overwhelming hops for the style. still this is good stuff. mouthfeel is low on the syrup scale. not a totally clean finish but it doesnt hang out like the worst of them.
