| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Nice grapefruit and pine hop aroma. Pours a reddish-amber with a nice foamy off-white head. Flavor isn’t as hop heavy as I was expecting, just a nice hint of citrus and bitterness, and an underlaying caramel hint from the malts. Nice thick mouthfeel, and a decent bitter finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2006 Clear reddish amber pour under a tall rocky off-white head. Very fragrant brew with pine resin and grapefruits bubbling out of the settling head. Citrusy and hoppy flavor but not as well balanced as other impy IPAs. Rich and smooth mouthfeel and a sinister (in a good way) bitter finish with some alcohol sneeking out every half sip or so. polomagnifico (535), Saginaw, Michigan, USA

Medium body/mouthfeel. Dry bitter finish. Alcohol on the nose, pretty well hidden in the mouth. Drinkable. Mildly acidic. Not a bad double IPA. Not as heavy as Dogfish Head 90 min IPA.

orange, little head - probably served too cold to tell however. This is a double IPA dominated by its hop components. So, I would argue, that it is not quite as balanced as the brewery claims. Nevertheless, the floral hop aroma, flavors and bitterness are nice. Finishes very bitter, dry. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2007 22 oz. bottle. Rating from memory here. Amber color with a big white head. Aroma was lots of citrus hops, but also a noticeable amount of bready malt. Somewhat resinous, grapefruit flavor with some caramel malt as well. Good, but it was a bit toned down for an IIPA.
