| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 28, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Superb, strong, sharp, soapy, resiny aroma features pine, grass, lemon, salt, and vinegar scents. Super-hoppy smell. Pours a hazy, bright, dark copper or brick color. Huge amount of thick, uneven beige head and thick lacing. Looks very appetizing. Tastes much like it smells, but not quite as strong or good. Bready, lemony flavors couple with cookie maltiness to give a lemon poppy seed muffin effect. Citrus sourness: Grapefruit, orange, and of course lemon. Spicy: Cumin, paprika, and salt. Vegetal, especially celery, flavors. Rich and complex flavors. Long, dry, bitter finish and aftertaste. Medium to heavy body. Oily in the palate with a reasonable amount of liveliness.
Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA is a great beer. I shouldn’t be surprised, for Arcadia India Pale Ale is one of the best (and most underrated) IPAs in the world, at least to this IPA lover. It’s natural that its double would also be great. This may be the best double IPA that I’ve ever had This is the beer that has caused me to change my favorite style from Imperial Stout to Imperial/Double IPA. Ignore the average score. This beer rocks. ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2006 22 oz bomber. Pours a murky dark orange with a rocky white head. Not a monster by any means but quite enjoyable with citrus and pine all balanced nicely by the caramel malts. One of the better brews I have from these guys. biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Draft @ Capone’s. Pours a nice amber color, with a smallish wite head. Aroma is big on citrus with some nice pine. Flavor is also heavy on the citrus, with a little pine and a good dose of malt. Very well balanced. Slightly bitter, but not overly so. Very smooth finish - the hops seem to stick to your tongue! Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2007 For me, the aroma was much more appetizing than the taste. But then again, the aroma is supposed to entice and the taste to quench. So it would probably be better to say that ultimately this is an enticing beer but not one that quenches one’s thirst for a double IPA. Smell of circus peanuts and Pine-Sol. Tasted somewhat soapy with a dry finish.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark orange color with a large, fluffy white head. Aroma of piney hop resin. Initially, the flavor is bready malt. The hops are there, but not as much as I would’ve liked. Mainly citrus hops. Finish is a bit bitter with some alcohol. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2009 Updated: Mar 10, 2009This was purchased at the Caboose in Ashland. It is a wonderful IPA. The alcohol is perfect and the hops were a mouthful The citrus flavors and full body make for a pleasnat experience. The head was while with some lacing. I will look for this ale again. I enjoy the complex taste and higher alcohol of IPA. This IPA is good example why I enjoy the hoppier ales. It is a pleasure to enjoy anytime. kassner (457), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Very nice IPA, not quite sure it makes a double b ut close and not so sickeningly infused that it is too much. Bottle amber colored not much head.
