Nose has grapefruit, some malts and a little lemon. Flavor is of strong, grassy hops, that are well balanced with the malt. Not a personal favorite, but a well done beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 17, 2008 Pours dark amber, very hazy, nice head and lace. Nice dryness, not sweet and cloying like some in this category. Great balance of bittering hops, malt and aroma hops. A bit more carbonated than I like but certainly within the range seen in IIPAs. Very well balanced, easy to drink, 8.1% well hidden. I would LOVE to find this on tap. I don’t get metallic in this bottle, not even a hint, and I’m quite sensitive to it. A fine beer indeed. cyrenaica (440), Milton, Ontario, Canada

I tried this beer on August 30, 2007 at the ’Beer Bistro’ in Toronto. The price is not a mis-print, I really did pay $20.00 for a beer. The beer poured a muddy brown into the glass with a small tan head that lasted throughout. The aroma was very hoppy...VERY hoppy with some perfumy and floral scents. Almost bubble-bath like. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with some mild carbonation. The flavour was hoppy and very spicy with some lingering bitterness. highibus (435), Mill Creek, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2008 A cloudy almost amber color with a fluffy light tan head. Only a slight aroma of hops. Flavor is sweet and not very hoppy for a 2ipa. A lingering sweetness overrides the hops. Thanks to cbkschubert for this one. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2008 Thanks to joe1510 for the bottle. Clear, dark amber color with an off-white head retaining well and leaving good retention. Aroma is of grass, pine, and a little bit of spruce tip; also some caramel comes through. Taste has a lot of spruce to it with some pine coming in as it finishes; malt is there, but is hidden. Low carbonation with medium body. Wasn’t too impressed with this, but probably worth a try. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 5, 2009 22oz Bottle. A hazy amber color body with a lasting fluffy offwhite head, streeks of lacing down my tulip galss. Aroma is nice and hoppy, having a good mix of citrus and pine notes with some herbal hints and maybe a little honey.
Flavor is toasty with some sweet caramel malt and a citrus/pine resin hop flavor, a little earthy, very balanced. A nice crisp clean mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. A resiny floral aftertaste, alcohol is well hidden. A very easy drinker, with a flavor and aroma that keep you taking sip after sip.
Nice job Arcadia

Aromas of dark fruits, tea, sweet malt. Very malty for IIPA, more dark fruits, some resin. Slight bitter finish with a fruit peel taste. Thick, heavy mouthfeel. Not great, not bad, I wouldn’t seek this out again. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2008 pours dark copper color with a huge 2 1/2 finger fluffy soapy light tan head. aroma is toasted malt and hops with some pine, soap, and orange rind. has a medium body with big lacing and just right carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger with some floral and a little alcohol. has a nice dry hop aftertaste and has some sediment floating around. its descent. as it warms a little more alcohol shows thru in the aroma and flavor. the hops stick to the tongue for a while as well.
