Commercial Description:
The first in our Brew Crew Big Beer Series, Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA should be finding its way to a store near you. Huge Maris Otter malt and a generous amount of fresh hops combine to make this extremely balanced ale remarkable.

Bottle. Color is deep garmet witth a small head and some lacing. Aroma is like a pine tree with nice west coast hops and a lemon and tangerine zest twist. Taste is more citrus than anything. Nicely hopped and although I don’t mind unblaanced ipa’s, the body seems a bit thin. Big hats off to Arcadia though for making this stuff, especially in a 22.

Pours a hazy orange amber with a medium off white bubbly yet creamy head that left some lacing a dimished yet sustained a small head. Aroma of pine, caramel malt, grapefruit and earthy. Flavor of grapefruit, orange, lots of pine, caramel, nuts, very chewy hop feel.

Bottle. Mostly lasting small ivory head, fair amount of lacing, somewhat hazy, carbonated, and a dark orange hue. Nose was malty, sweet and hoppy and ditto for the flavor except add in some bitterness. Tingly, hoppy palate. Medium body.

Bottle. Murky amber pour. Small tan head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Very resinous hop notes to this combined with caramel and sweet malts. Taste is citrusy but sweet with light pine, citrus oils, caramel, candied orange and chewy malts. Rather sweeter than the aroma but even more resinous. Body is medium-full with lots of bitterness and oiliness on the palate. Carbonation is medium as well. Finishes with a stronger sweetness than bitterness. More candied orange, caramel, sweet malts, some hints of sponge cake, citrus fruits, hop oils and pine round this out. Delicious!

22oz bottle. Smelled of lemon cupcake and vanilla with a whiff of caramel. Poured a clear medium orange color with a lasting white head. Medium bodied and slightly sweet without a whole lot of hop bitterness. Tasted of caramel and citrusy hops. Not much depth in this one.

Draft, sample @ David Copperfield’s in NYC. Courtesy of super cool beer manager/bartender Joey. Pours gold with a big off whitehead. Light hoppy nose. Tastes more like an IPA not an impy. Ok but its a sheep in wolf’s clothing.

Bottle. Not half bad! Medium brownish color. tan head. Aroma has some very nice floral and pine hops with caramel malt, and some sweet notes...almost like an overripe orange. A good hop bit is mixed well with the generous caramel malt bill. I enjoyed this.

This is a tasty beer. Abundant flowery hops in the aroma. Gold color and moderate carbonation. Some sweetness in the flavor from malt, but tons of hops, herbal, citrus, and bitter flavors. It left a good hop burn.
