Floral nose, hoppy blast, bitter finish, missing the malt I expect in the middle. Good not great in a competitive style. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA

Pour was ornge-red, with a nice off-white head and decent lacing, but the strong citrusy grapefruit hops (that I’ve come to love in the style) are missing from the nose, and not much more noticeable in the taste. The mouthfeel is a nice bitter-sweet blend of malts and hops, and the finish long and pleasant, but this is just not up to DIPA standards. riversideAK (2803), Shoreline, Washington, USA

Pours a nice reddish copper color with a bubbly thin head and great lace. Aroma seems a little dulled. Perhaps a little oxidized, but I get notes of grapefruit, citrus, and some floral hops with some moderately sweet caramel malts and lots of alcohol at 8.1%. Not a bitter hop bomb, but pleasantly fruity with only some toasty balancing malt. Flavors of grapefruit, orange, and lighter sweet/tart fruit, and floral/piney hops. A nice soft bitterness citrus rind flavor lingers on the palate. Alcohol is barely detectable on the palate. Nicely drinkable. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Pours a medium hazy amber with a decent head. Nice sticky lacing also. Big piney hop aroma and a touch of floral. Flavor is once again big bitter hops. There are some mild malts as well but the hops overpower them. But not in a bad way. A true big hop pleasure. jonnabrix (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2008 A nice double IPA. The hops come through in the aroma and flavor as very floral and fruity, and there is plenty of sweet malt presence to balance it nicely jgd0608 (187), Zeeland, Michigan, USA

I’m smellin bananas, intersting for a DIPA. Medium mouthfeel, wiht a good hop flavor. Citrusy taste. Pretty good all around DIPA. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Pours hazy amber/orange with a huge frothy/rocky off-white head. Fruity aroma of grapefruit, with lots of roasted malt and piney hops. Flavor is lightly sweet, piney, notes of caramel, lots of roasted barley, and light bitterness on the finish. Palate is medium, some bitterness, a bit oily/resiny, with some remnants of caramel and grapefruit. Fairly balanced, but the malt profile overshadows the hops a bit too much. Tasty, just would’ve liked some more hops. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

Medium body/mouthfeel. Dry bitter finish. Alcohol on the nose, pretty well hidden in the mouth. Drinkable. Mildly acidic. Not a bad double IPA. Not as heavy as Dogfish Head 90 min IPA.
