Commercial Description:
The first in our Brew Crew Big Beer Series, Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA should be finding its way to a store near you. Huge Maris Otter malt and a generous amount of fresh hops combine to make this extremely balanced ale remarkable.

22oz - Cloudy red/orange liquid with a thin tan head. Good lacing despite no real head. Floral nose, hoppy blast, bitter finish, missing the malt I expect in the middle. Good not great in a competitive style.

Not a bad beer, but somewhat disappointing for a DIPA. Pour was ornge-red, with a nice off-white head and decent lacing, but the strong citrusy grapefruit hops (that I’ve come to love in the style) are missing from the nose, and not much more noticeable in the taste. The mouthfeel is a nice bitter-sweet blend of malts and hops, and the finish long and pleasant, but this is just not up to DIPA standards.

Pours a medium hazy amber with a decent head. Nice sticky lacing also. Big piney hop aroma and a touch of floral. Flavor is once again big bitter hops. There are some mild malts as well but the hops overpower them. But not in a bad way. A true big hop pleasure.

A nice double IPA. The hops come through in the aroma and flavor as very floral and fruity, and there is plenty of sweet malt presence to balance it nicely

Bomber courtesy of ford9719. Thanks!! Pours a deep red witha thin beige head. I’m smellin bananas, intersting for a DIPA. Medium mouthfeel, wiht a good hop flavor. Citrusy taste. Pretty good all around DIPA.

22 oz. Bomber at Waldo Pizza in KCMO. Pour is a orange copper with a pretty solid medium head off-white head. Aroma was pine hops and quite a bit of malt as well. Taste is a nice blend of the hops and malt, with really nothing special standing out. A very solidly made DIPA, though not a hop bomb by any stretch of the imagination.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Caramel color with nice lasting head and lace. Fresh hop piney soapy grapefruit aroma. Hop forward piney resiny orangey citrus flavor with ass-backward toasty malty sweet finish. The beer is balanced but backward. Still, not a bad effort, just not one of the real good ones (IMHO). I’m not sure who is looking for "huge Maris Otter" malt in their DIPA.

Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a large, pitted, beige head that leaves behind wispy/patchy lace. The nose is a "dusty", solid grapefruit with a light caramel malt note in support. Also present are lighter supporting notes of spruce and mango. Medium-bodied and soft with a moderate hit of hop bitterness at the woody-dry finish. The flavor is of sweet caramel malt followed by grapefruity citrus and moderately resinous hop notes. The finish is fairly bitter, with a lingering "tongue-squeeze" coming after the swallow. The bittering hops on this brew seem to supersede those used for flavor and aroma. It’s a solid and fairly tasty brew; it’s just not a top tier IIPA.
