| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Deep gold and slightly hazy in color. Light head but not too viscous so not much lace either. Light floral hops and an almost winey like nose. Nice roasty, sweet malt in your mouth with a piney hoppy taste that is long lingering balance of mellow english hops and sweetness. But then gets a little grainy in the finish. Cornfield (4942), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

Deep orange with a creamy beige head, it’s got the grapefruit, piney, and floral aromas that one comes to expect in the style, albeit a bit tamed down. The caramel backbone is solid, supporting some good hop bitterness. Nice lingering hoppy finish. I wish they’d kick it up a notch, though.

Lots of pine resin and musty hops. Flavor has a sweet malt kick initially, turns to the same harsh bitterness, again very musty hops. Can see where hopheads would enjoy this but, just doesn’t appeal to my tastebuds. porterhouse (1156), Alna, Maine, USA
