Tap @ brewpub. Dark copper colour, small white head. Aroma of pine hops and caramel malts. Flavour of flowery hops. Bitter finish.

Very nice IPA, not quite sure it makes a double b ut close and not so sickeningly infused that it is too much. Bottle amber colored not much head.

22oz. bottle. Citric and moderately juicy hop aroma, plenty of lemon and pine combined with a lighter amount of pale malt sweetness, perhaps a hint of light brown sugar. Medium-dark amber color, lightly hazy with a lasting, fine, uneven head. Flavors are actually fairly well balanced throughout but of course do lean to the fruity and hoppy side, primarily, with more lemony citrus and a touch of grapefruit combined with the lightly sweet maltiness, which actually disappears largely towards the finish, which is significantly drying and even a tad astringent. Abundant effervescence combined with an oily texture and medium-full body. Alcohol is nowhere to be seen. Enjoyable and easily drinkable, but not able to match the texture and complexity of the great IIPAs.

on tap. orange, little head - probably served too cold to tell however. This is a double IPA dominated by its hop components. So, I would argue, that it is not quite as balanced as the brewery claims. Nevertheless, the floral hop aroma, flavors and bitterness are nice. Finishes very bitter, dry.

22 oz bottle from Bello Vino in Ann Arbor, Michigan, sampled at cellar temperature from an Allagash glass at home. The dark translucent chestunut body is a thing of beauty, restrained and classy, topped by a rich dark tan head that leaves thick lacing on the glass all the way down....rising up is a gorgeous fresh aroma, apricots and citrus, pine and haystacks, beautiful as dew in the morning....the body, strangely, smacks of a little age, the carbonation rather low and the mouthfeel a bit syrupy....old dry woody hops, molasses and English malts, biscuity and reminiscent of many ESBs I’ve had....as it warms a bit of leathery character, some dried cherries appear, light dry yeast.....English character really does seem dominant, not really something that works for me in a hoppy west-coast style like a IIPA....seems curiously restrained and boring overall, too bad considering the wonderful beginning. Certainly not a bad beer, just nothing really special as you might hope it would be.

First impressions first, WOW who sprayed the disinfectant in the outhouse and bottled it. Overpowering pine and rotting grains. Some melon, and citrus come out as it sets, but I still have reminders of the outhouse in the pine forest at the cabin. Hazed light amber color with a canvas colored head. Very smooth and pleasant feel. Mild orange liqueur mixes nicely with pale, slightly earthy malt. Finish and linger have a mild burn some more candy orange flavors. To be blunt, if this didn’t stink, I would really be enjoying this one. Some of the scents have subsided, but some of the nuances are still there and I think about a morning after and an overzealous use of room freshener. Flavors are balanced better than most IIPAs with a nice mix of malt, hops, fruit and light spice.

This has a pretty big pine hop nose. Color is hazy copper. Flavor is weird, not as bitter as you think and tastes dirty.

Bottle pours a hazy dark orange amber. NIce, lasting creamy off-white head. Lots of thick sturdy lacing. Aroma is modest hoppy, citrusy notes with some sweet carmely malt flavors as well. Flavor is a softly woody malt profile with fairly bitter grassy hop componant. Some soapy tastes as well. A bit light on the palate for a double. The ABVm while a bit high, is not very noticeable.
