Mar 12, 2008 bottle. Poured out a nice glowing amber color, light head, quickly fading. Floral hop aroma, fresh and crisp. delightful taste of quality hops and malts, well balanced in lots of ways. Excellent finish. One of the top IIPA.

Jan 17, 2009 On draft at Donnely’s, Fairport, NY. A huge noseful of hops on initial sniff. The hops are good, but what is even better is the malts. More balanced than most imperial DIPA’s. The alcohol is a bit weak for a double - in my opinion they should range from 9%-12%. Great beer, and what a bargain at $4 a 16oz draft. Good stuff.

Jun 5, 2009 22oz Bottle. A hazy amber color body with a lasting fluffy offwhite head, streeks of lacing down my tulip galss. Aroma is nice and hoppy,having a good mix of citrus and pine notes with some herbal hints and maybe a little honey.
Flavor is toasty with some sweet caramel malt and a citrus/pine resin hop flavor, a little earthy, very balanced. A nice crisp clean mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. A resiny floral aftertaste, alcohol is well hidden. A very easy drinker, with a flavor and aroma that keep you taking sip after sip.

Jan 15, 2007 Hazy, glowing orange, big white head, rich pine aroma, intensely hoppy the first two sips, then plenty of caramel malt, with a potent citrus and pine finish. Very nice

Feb 13, 2008 Orangey-red color, slightly lazy with a massive, frothy white head that leaves behind thick curtains of lacing. Aroma is a strong punch of piney hops followed by caramel and spicy hop notes and a touch of alcohol. Aroma overall is much more earthy and musty as opposed to the usual fresh, zingy citric aroma found in a lot of double IPAs. Vanilla cookie-sweet malts evident in the flavor along with resinous hops and toffee. Cleansing, herbal finish. Moderately carbonated, suits this offering well.

May 24, 2008 Deep red-orange, cloudy, with a huge off-white head. Light, sweet nose, with touches of vanilla and walnuts. Flavor is fairly sweet, a bit astringent, quite bitter, with some touches of tobacco, almonds and walnuts.

Feb 23, 2006 Pours a dark copper color with a thick and foamy ivory colored head. Really sticky lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Nice bitter character and medium body. Lots of hoppy pine and citrus flavor with an underlying sweetness of malt and toasted bread. Manages to stay thoroughly bitter and rounded at the same time. The finish is tart and hoppy and lasting. One of Arcadia’s best.

Jun 7, 2006 Dark amber pour with a big creamy white head. Nice balanced hop aroma. Flavor is smooth and mellow. Not as harsh as I expected but very nice.
