Flavor is pretty nice, somewhat hoppy, but seems to have a bit of grapefruit - pretty interesting. Has a decent body and carbonation. Overall, this is quite good and enjoyable. nolankowal (855), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pungent aroma, similar to a tomato plant...very pleasant. Overbearing vegitable and pine flavor doesn’t let go which in the end it just doesn’t seem to be balanced out.
09/02/06 - trying this one out again...the pour is really nice...hazy dorty orange with a soft light tan head. Aroma holds some fresh hoppy elements: pine, grass and citrus all seem to be present...some pineapple and some light bready malt...a bit of smoke. The flavor holds a good bit of the grass and grapefruit as well as the tropical fruit...a bit of vanilla and dry malt...the hops certainly overcome the malt making the brew more fresh and crisp rather than rich and sweet. Decent body the holds a crisp bitterness from beginning to the dry, warming, bitter finish. The carbonation is nice as well, making itself known without being too brash. The malt presense seems to come out a bit more as it warms but not too much more. Overall, a lot nicer than I recall...a lot of west coast qualities in a brew from the mid-west...and that’s gotta stand for somethin. KimJohansen (7149), Copenhagen V, Denmark

Flavor isn’t as hop heavy as I was expecting, just a nice hint of citrus and bitterness, and an underlaying caramel hint from the malts. Nice thick mouthfeel, and a decent bitter finish. wmubronco1992 (190), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Bottle - Carmally/copper color. Huge white head with great retention. Excellent lacing. Woodsy aroma. Nice grassy flavor. Dry finish. Love the mouthfeel. Its a big beer and the big bottle was well deserved. Unlike some of the double IPA’s, Arcadia kept the alcohol level under 10% and thus this big brew is not only excellent, but also very drinkable. glennmastrange (868), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel notes for the malt, moderate to heavy pine and herbs for the hops, light broth for the yeast, and background notes of berry, pepper and dried fruit. Head is huge, frothy, off-white with good lacing and is fully lasting. Color is murky light orange/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation and a lightly astringent finish. The limited bitterness of this beer is unique to the point it separates it from other quality DIPAs. obguthr (1069), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

Murky ochre color with a thick peach colored head. Medium bodied with fruity esters, like jolly ranchers, but considerably less sweet. Cherry, lemon, orange, and perhaps a bit of fig. Piney bark finish. Tasty and well hopped, but probably well below 60 IBUs. I think I like it better that way. mmmbeer (765), Austin, Texas, USA

Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt comes in first, then some sweetness shows itself in the middle. The finish turns all that into a mild hop burn that lasts for a few minutes. Very delightful... and potent!!!
