Ruby brown body, fluffy white head and thick, spotty lacing. Lemon, orange, and apple fruit aromas followed by a hearty caramel scent. The hop aromas are quite soapy with a good evergreen quality. Heavy and sweet with a somewhat balanced hop to malt feeling for this style of beer. It’s quite the malt bomb with a sweet candy apple and caramel flavor followed by plenty of citrus and piny hops. I detect lots of crystal malt giving a good biscuit and nutty flavor. Great beer, enjoyed a 4-pack although it is misleading by today’s DIPA standards.

(cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Copper color with a soapy white head. Aroma is juicy with a lot of citrus and some floral notes. Some caramel as well. Flavor starts with a whole lot of citrus and peppery hop flavors, moving into a smooth and lightly sweet middle with hints of citrus and caramel. Finishes sweet and very flowery with a mild lingering bitterness.

Dense lingering head. Slightly piney aroma. Taste dominated by malt. I am not a fan of a malty IPA. I had just finished a bottle of Bell’s Two Hearted and expected something along those lines. But this was coffee like, slightly chocolately. Probably a good brew for the malt lovers but for the hopheads, this one was a little heavy in sweeter taste vs. citrus.

12 ounce bottle from Barley and Hops. Pours a cloudy mahogany color with a small white head. A sweet hoppy aroma, caramel and pine. The taste is smooth and hot; caramel citrus hops, earthy and lots of malts. Decent.

Pours from the bottle with lacy head and a light amber / dark golden color. Softer aroma of hops than expected. Nice flavor lighter than expected for a dipa well balanced overall. Well done dipa but a little lighter compared to others

Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel notes for the malt, moderate to heavy pine and herbs for the hops, light broth for the yeast, and background notes of berry, pepper and dried fruit. Head is huge, frothy, off-white with good lacing and is fully lasting. Color is murky light orange/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation and a lightly astringent finish. The limited bitterness of this beer is unique to the point it separates it from other quality DIPAs.

Bottled. Hazy amber colour with a small off-white head. Strong and sharp aroma of lemon-zest, green apples, caramel and mild resin. Nearly full-bodied with touches of caramel, lemon-zest, mandarin-peels, metal and green apple-skin. Long bitter finish og lemon-zest, green apples and alcohol.

12 oz bottle - pours a cloudy orange with a centimeter of head with minimal lacing - Citrus aroma and taste - bitter on the palate - lighter body than expected for a DIPA - Very good brew!

Pours hazy orange-amber with a thick head. Aroma is sweet apple, pear, honey, grapefruit, lemon and is overall sweet. Taste is sweet fruit along with a mild citrus and some pine resin. Pretty balanced beer but leaning to sweet more than bitter.
