Commercial Description:
Black as coal in color, this bottle conditioned Stout has a velvety rich and sweet malt aroma. After pouring, a dense brown head gives way to a big, full-bodied and creamy texture that has flavors of roasted coffee and black currants, blending perfectly with the malt. A generous amount of hops add balance and complexity to this extraordinary stout that will continue to improve with age. A worthy beer to cellar and enjoy throughout the year.

Dark black, with rich dark edges. Light islandic tan lacing. Nose of licorice, sweet roast and dark fruit, light tannins and a rich robusto espresso note. The flavor is very balanced with a bit of hot alcohol and more tangy rich dark things; molasses, soy sauce, etc. Finishes sweet and acidic. Beefy presence in the stomach. Decent, thanks TAR.

Bottle, from trade with TAR. Good nose, Soy sauce, viney, cocoa, molasses. Brownish black color, cocoa brown head that faded slowly to a ring. Bitter flavors, same as aromas with more emphasis on the viney molasses side. Medium body, lite & creamy, bitter warming finish. Good brew. Warmed up nicely, a drinkable 9%. Thanks TAR

acquired via trade with TAR. pours BLACK with a tan foamy head. I’ve never seen a bottle ooze foam like this one! poured about half the bottle into my .3L snifter and set the bottle down, then for several minutes the bottle looked like one of those snake fireworks things you would light as a kid, only in slow motion. it just kept oozing foam out of the top of the bottle. Oh yeah, back to the beer, sticky and sweet with a flavor of roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits and bittersweet chocolate. a bit too much carbonation for my taste, the carbonation seems to deract from the flavors in a way. Overall a nice IS, just a little different. Thanks Jeff!

Pours black, with a nice sized tan/brown head. Aromas are roasted malt, chocolate, hops, and a slight fruitiness. Smooth, fairly heavy body. Flavors are roasted malt, dark fruit, chocolate, and coffee.

Black color with a medium tan head. Not much aroma at all, just a faint hint of barley. More in the flavor, but nothign else to match or enhance it. More like a weak barley wine than a stout.

A beautiful pitch black beer with a foamy dark brown head. Roasted malt aroma with notes of fruit, citrus, chocolate and some hops. Coffee and roasted malt in the flavor. Soft and complex with nice chocolate notes. Smooth and delicious.

Poured very black with a small tan head. Heavy aroma of raisins and figs with some chocolate. Verry sweet flavor of Chocolate, raisins, figs and a bit of coffee. This mouthfeel. Good stout!
