Cloudy, medium orange pour with a wispy white head. Strong but not overpowering floral hoppiness in the nose, carried into the flavor which was pleasantly bitter. Finished clean. A great starter IPA. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Bottled. Mine may have been going to skunk; there were hints of it on the nose. Mostly strong, piney hops on nose. Flavor was good:mild, more American Pale than IPA> Murkey opaque copper in color, with a thin quickly dissipating head. Retro42 (18), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 28, 2007 It has a pleasant citrus and floral aroma. Pours a huge fluffy white head over a hazy tan body. The citrus aroma leads to a very defined grapefruit taste. Not nearly the flavor I was expecting from it, kinda of dull without much complexity. I did enjoy the overall tactile combination of the long-lasting fluffy head combined with the smooth citrus taste though. obguthr (1048), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2007 Thistle, pineapple, and lemon nose. Cloudy amber color, very thick sudsy head and numerous streams of carbonation. Dry flavor of orange peel and grass, with some grapefruit. Very nice! Metalhead (571), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2007 2nd beer from this brewer. Basically a lackluster IPA with some mild caramel and AGAIN that weird floral thing going on. I like beers that are differant but tasting like there are flower petals floating in it is not a good thing in my book. Beaver (598), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 19, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a large fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is grains and an odd mint and floral burnt plastic leather hoppiness.
The flavor is a little odd as well - some sweet fruity malts with a leathery ashy floral hoppiness that has a decent level of bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I didn’t really care for this one. It had a bunch of strange notes to it. tig397 (64), dearborn heights, Michigan, USA
