Commercial Description:
Columbus dry-hops added directly to the open fermenter uniquely characterize our IPA with an intensely robust pure-like floral aroma and resinous hop flavor. A pronounced hop bitterness is balanced by a medium-bodied, lightly caramel and toasted malt character with a nutty finish.

not bad, but I would rather drive 20 minutes down the road and go get a two hearted from bells. They could take come lessons from them on making a good ipa

I seemed to enjoy this one more than most of my peers. Nice clear amber with a small head that laced the glass. Aroma of caramel and fruit. Not as kick ass with the hops in the taste which I guess lowered the ratings. Malty sweet with just a bit of bitterness. Nice clean finish. I liked it.

BPW #28 Served on tap at Arcadia Brewing Company. Appearance is a crisp golden with a thin white head. Aromas are mild pine flavors with a sweet edge. Mouth is very mild with hop bitterness. An eastern IPA to say the least but okay none the less.

Dan’s Bachelor Party Extended Weekend Rating #31 of 90. Tap at Arcadia, shared taster (hands down best taster offering I’ve ever had...a total of 9-3oz pours for $7.99). Pours a nice clear golden/orange. Excellent citrus hop component. This was a very nice IPA style. Try it if you’re there.

Pours a bright partly cloudy orange colour with a small white head. Decent lacing. Noticeably biscuity with soft well integrated hop character. Aroma is nutty, semi sweet with caramel undertones. A good fall IPA.

Had on tap in a pint glass. Not nearly hoppy enough for the style. Sweet and fruity with no bite.

Bottle. Poured turbid dark amber with no head. Aroma was of bubblegum and cinnamon, slightly malty, with spicy floral hops. Flavor was light honey, almost woody malt, seemingly noble spicy hops, somewhat floral, butter biscuit, and slightly citric. Palate was enjoyable but the bitterness was certainly not in balance with the malt.

I had seen Arcadia’s beers before in Wisconsin, but was surprised to see quite a few of them in the Chicago area. I had the IPA from the beer engine at Sheffield’s in Chicago. Not sure if I’d feel differently about this beer if I’d had it from the bottle or from a conventional tap, but this beer struck me as being nothing special. Color was a hazy straw color with the smooth head of miniscule bubbles that is typical for a beer-engine poured beer. Aroma was virtually non-existent, and taste was only slightly more pronounced. It wasn’t quite a widgeted can of Boddington’s in terms of its mild-mannered-ness, but throw in some discernible amount of hops and you’ve got a pretty good approximation of my experience with this beer. Pretty unexciting stuff. The high marks in my review (aroma, mouthfeel) come from the beer-engine pour primarily, rather than the beer.
