After the foam on the initial pour settled down, the last few ounces brought in a lot of yeast sediments into suspension. The smell was rather mild in character with some spicy hops riding atop caramel malts. The taste was also lightly hoppy and mild in bitterness. The yeast did impart a peppery tang to the taste, making it a little more interesting. Malts were typical pale and caramel. Aftertaste was a little to metallic and mineralized. Whoever calls English style IPAs nothing but glorified bitters is right on the money with this beer. UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA

They do a good job of tapping their beer: this had a perfect thick and creamy white head. Hoppy and watery is how I would describe it. Weak finish. brainskins (14), evansville, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 18, 2005 Pours a cloudy copper color with a bubbly white head. Smells floral, sweet citrus, and pine. Taste very bitter hops and somewhat sweet and sour. Too much carbonation and too sour. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Murky copper color with a thin head. Pine filled aroma. The taste brought a lot more of that pine, rounded out by oak and malt. Bitter finish. It’s definitely not over-complex, but I like it for what it is. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Tthanks to chilehead for this bottle. Pours cloudy brown-orange with a substantial foamy head, aroma is light citrus sour yeasty. A citrus fruity bready and somewhat tangy malt character, medium bodied with a somewhat bitter finish. Not bad, but not memorable for an IPA. chilehead (186), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

Taste was all floral almost perfumey and light toast. Palate was medium and had a bitter finish to it. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2005 Clean, fresh, grapefruit, hop nose. Clear copper colour with low, white, head that recedes to partial cover with some lace. Strong grapefruit-orange-citrus, and resiny pine hop flavours with fairly assertive finishing bitterness and a lightly toasty malt character. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Draft at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor.
