I am enjoying this on a hot day, and its hitting me right, however, it strikes me as a piney, peachy pale ale more than an IPA. The nose is musty peach crates and pine needles. The appearance is a beautiful unfiltered gold (its unpasteurized and unfiltered). The taste is light caramel, peach, then pine, then dry bitterness as it finishes. For $7.99 a sixie, I’d probably get it again...but you can get Bridgeport IPA for $6.99, and I like it a bit better. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2005 12oz - Nicely balanced aroma of hop and malt. Pours copper with a huge creamy head and little lacing. Flavor is mild hop, plenty of malt, and a touch of carmel. Palate is unappealing and sticky. Nothing special. kms399 (267), plymouth, Minnesota, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2005 On tap at the brewery. Clear copper orange in color with some creamy white accents for the head. Nice citrus hops aroma: grapefruit, papaya, floral hop bouquet and soccer fields. Flavor signals Mount Hood hops in abundance. An elevated hop profile but neglected malt complexion. Flavors of pineapple, caramel and a diet tropical Snapple. Noble effort, but needs more malts. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2005 A very smooth ipa. The hops and bitterness are light and it makes the beer easy to drink. Refreshing. Aroma is mostly hops. Gold, with a small white head that leaves a lace. Flavors of very light fruit and mildly bitter hops. Fairly good palate; which might be its best quality. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 4, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with bkelley68, thanks Brian!) Peaches, peaches and more peaches! Is this an IPA, or a fruit beer? Not to style at all. The very aromatic nose is solidly peach and orange citrus, and would make a nice aroma for an air freshener to hang in my car. I really like the aroma, but it seems rather out of place in an IPA. The flavor is a bit more diverse, but it’s still a sweet, very fruity beer, again, with peaches and orange citrus immediately jumping out. Because of the sweet, fruity flavor, the maltiness is hard to pick out. More noticeable is the mild hops for a balancing, gently bitter, but long-lasting finish. Medium bodied, but not a crisp IPA. Slightly expansive mouthfeel isn’t surprising given how the head surges during the pour, but it doesn’t feel as strongly carbonated on the tongue. Cloudy in appearance, bright amber in color, and all topped by a very large and rapidly forming head when poured. The head gradually settles to a quarter-inch in height, showing above average retention, and lacing is patchy, but long lasting as well. While the commercial description doesn’t match my experience at all, and it’s way too peachy for a classic IPA, this is still rather enjoyable. Indy (87), Hopkins, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2005 Interesting, almost "dank" aroma...slightly yeasty. Light white head, slightly cloudy (can see tiny pieces of sediment)...the color of a shiny penny. Decent floral hop flavor, piney hop aftertaste, balanced with toasty malts. Despite it’s middle-of-the-road overall rating (52 overall as I write this), this is one of the better English style IPA’s I’ve had lately...I will buy it again. Too bad it’s not hoppier. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 1, 2005 Clear orange body with a rocky white head. Snappy aroma with some lemon notes. Very British flavor as far as the malt base goes, with a little toasted malt in there too. Tangy hops are really what get ya here. Lemony and tart with a bitter finish. I like this stuff.
