Much more of an English IPA than an American one. Leathery English malts in this one. Hops have faded - be interesting fresh. tarheels86 (799), Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2009 On tap. Pours a clear, darker amber with an off-white, thin head. Okay retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee, citrus hops, piney hops, honey. Taste is citrus and piney hops with caramel malt but quickly changes to a nutty, bitter character characteristic of stale IPAs. Overall a little sweet and nutty for an IPA but enjoyable. Not bad. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 28, 2009 (Bottle courtesy of Headbanger)-Color is gold with a faint haze. Carbonation is overactive with a big tall loose head. Aroma comes of with a medicine like scent at first but after a bit you get some malt and a touch of hops. Taste is light and clean. Starting with a light medium body that goes down with a crisp feel. Finish is faintly sweet with malt then just a hint of hop spiciness and only the faintest bitterness. After taste is an odd tart taste. Not a standout IPA, the hops are hard to find but its an easy drinking brew. Bullit (1392), Glasgow, Scotland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Bottle, The Den, Kalamazoo. Orange - amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma has pine hops. Flavour of pine hops, fruits. Slightly dry finish. Decent IPA. coyotehunter (557), , Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Deep orange/red pour with very little head.Slightly spicy nose of some pine and caramel. Light note of grapefruit as well. Somewhat watery flavor, with a touch of fruit in there. Everything seems separated in this and winds up mess in the end. Has a bitterness in the end that lingers. Not nice. robinvboyer (1442), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2009 Dark ornage pour, and man dos this foam up! doesn’t seem to matter how slowly you pour this, you will have half a glass of head. Decent citrucy aroma, nice malt profile. Same for the flavor, but overall this wasn’t exceptional, just a basic IPA, nothing out o this world, and actually its kinda on the low end of IPA’s, a little lacking. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Bottle. Pour is an almost brownish amber with little head. Aromas are a bit of citrus and floral hops and caramel malty tones. Flavor is a little off... it’s like the hops aren’t fully developed and the malt doesn’t help level things out. There is quite a bit of a bitter edge here, but it isn’t a very pleasant hops bitter... more of a medicinal or astringent unpleasantness. jimmack34 (570), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with a creamy off white head. Smells of pine, citrus, and sweet malt. Tastes very piney, some wheat bread crust, lightly roasted. Nice citric spice, and piney, grassy finish. Nice creamy smooth aftertaste. Body is slightly thin and watery, but not bad. Also a very slight souness present, but the bottle i had may have been older.
