Commercial Description:
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

Color of pumpkin pie, hazy. Aroma has nice nutmeg, ginger, clove character up front. Some fruity esters in the background. Flavor just sort of standard as pumpkin beers go. Heavy spice, muddled up hard to pick out individual spices. Caramelish sweet malt and light fruit esters again. residual cinnamon and nutmeg finish, not in a good way.

it’s fall, so naturally every brewery comes out with a pumpkin beer. 12 oz bottle, pours a hazy dark orange and a small ring of white foam. faint aroma of malt and spice - typical pumpkin pie spice, but not overdone like some. essentially an amber ale with fall spices added - really not bad, except for the dry cinnamon finish.

Bottle courtesy of tjthresh. Pours a hazy copper with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, pie spice and some tea. Tastes sweet and malty with some hints of spice and some tea like elements. Finishes dry and tangy.

Draft at Radio Maria in Champaign, IL. Pours a hazy amber with a thick tan head. Aroma of nutmeg and allspice. Arcadia did a fine job with the spices, well blended flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. However, this could use a little more heft in the malt bill to take this to the next level- at least for me. Overall, still enjoyable and worth a try.

Tasted 9/22/07. 12oz bottle. Hazy and sedimented. Amber hue. Tight ring of off-white head. Aromas of nutmeg and vinegar. Cinnamon and bready. More so pumpkin bread than pumpkin pie. Light to medium bodied. Good spices. Nice bitter base beer. Good malt to hop balance. The spices accentuate the brew. Nice spices with a touch of vanilla. Nice.

Bottle from Party Source. Poured hazy copper color with an average creamy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Average spice, nutmeg and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Not my style.

Cinnamon, all-spice, nutmeg dominate Jaw-Jacker from aroma to aftertaste. As ’MrBendo’ states the only pumpkin is on the label, not in the beer. Not sure the thinking behind the recipe for this brew, "but it is what it is". If you like a spiced beer, than give it a try.
