Commercial Description:
Jaw-Jacker balances our finest malted barley with a bit-o-wheat and is complimented with a citrus hop kick and just the right amount of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice for a nice marriage of pumpkin pie and beer. Made in the fall to celebrate the changing of the season.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a trace of a tan head. The aroma was light spices and fruits with a candied ginger presence dominating. The flavor was tart, spicy and a little bitter with a fruity presence and pervading candied ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Medium body. Solid.

Deep amber pour with a thin head. Aroma dominated with apple pie spice. Flavor is good - a really solid ale in the background but dominated by the spices. I’m not a big fan of spiced brews and prefer those with pumpkin in them – per Arcadia’s website, there is no pumpkin in here. I was stupid enough to think that it was a pumpkin ale when I bought it - no doubt the label graphic fooled me - but thankfully my taste buds are smarter than my brain.

This is probably as good as the spiced beer style gets, though not as good as a nicely spiced holiday porter or stout. What can I say? A good example o a style I find uncompelling - if you like the spice ale you’ll probably really like this. For me - it’s OK , but I won’t be buying it again.

Amber beer with a short lived off white head. Surprisingly subtle aroma, but what there was hinted of nutmeg and spice. Spicey beer with cinnamon, nutmeg, and pie spices. Some underlying caramel sweetness and almost orange juice citrus. Medium bodied. Okay pumpkin beer.

No notes on this beer. I had several beers where I was only able to kind of take small notes and therefore everyone suffers.

~ Purchased a 6-pack from Big Z Beverage in Huntington, NY. Pours a hazy orange color with a creamy white head. Cooler temperatures, leaves changing colors, and homemade pumpkin pies are just a few of the things that come to mind when I take a whiff of this beer. Aromas are of pumpkin spices, and it tastes pretty much the way it smells. This was satisfying, and I will have no problems finishing off the other bottles. ~

Pours a clear amber color with no head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and caramel. Good nose! Flavor of allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg with hints of citrus and pumpkin. Not bad for the style.

Sampled at Famous Liquors Fall /Oktoberfest Tasting in Lombard, IL.. Poured a cloudy, gold/amber with modest off white foam and lacing. The aroma was initially floral and pie spices with nutmeg being the most notable. The flavor followed with some mellow malt, but finished slightly astrigent.
